ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

After reading my breakfast tea leaves, I am going to make a fearless prediction.

Stay with me, it is positive.

If they are signing players for next year and keeping it secret it can be because the players are currently with another A-League club and they do not want to announce them yet. Understandable, but usually impossible to keep secret (like Millar) or not to hear rumours (like Pain and Aspro).

My prediction is that they have found a new coach and do not want to make any announcements until this season is over. The club has already signed a couple of players selected by the new coach. Quality internationals hopefully. MM is out of the loop but has probably been told his services are no longer required after this season.

Everything is being kept tightly under wraps because there is a massive clean out in process and this season has to be completed.

Total regeneration about to happen.

Oh, the coaches name.........
just a guess.................

Mike Phelan.

No way will Manchester United let him leave

Apparently we have already signed ‘some exciting new players’ for next season, that will be announced at the end of the season.

Given the club’s miserable failure during the January window and the team’s continued failure in the league, I won’t be holding my breath on this.....

I’m not sure I buy this (nothing personal oz), unless it’s foreign players.

Signing exciting A-League players would be impossible to keep a secret within the playing group, and our current players keep walking away, so obviously can’t see anything to entice them to stay.

If it is foreign players, they would announce it, as there would be no sensibilities to respect, but even so, signing 4 quality foreigners will only go so far when the rest of the squad is made up from NPL scraps and A-League retirees in waiting as it’s looking right now.

It came from the horse’s mouth but I am as sceptical as anyone else and wasn’t trying to spread false hope.

Would never question your intent mate, more potentially the opinion of the source - I would imagine management would have been ‘excited’ by signing Simon, McGlinchy, Gameiro, Cisse, etc etc.

They were also very very excited about Bolt.

So CCLC sold out to property developers in return for a new club - can they safely build towers on what is essentially a tidal swamp?

What has that to do with the Mariners and Pikey????
His plans will never take off as the more established CCLC are effectively planning to do exactly the same thing as his plans. Some may even say they have deliberately borrowed the ideas to stop MC especially from having say a mariners venue which would take business pregame away from CCLC.

Makes you wonder if the CCLC would have done the same thing to the CC bears if they got off the ground. Cutting the clubs grass wont help anyone in the long run and we'll be back to having a stadium that's used 6 times a year if the mariners disappear. Perhaps council need to show some leadership if there's competing interests at work.

Maybe the CCLC are happy about this. They have openly said in the past that their pokie revenue drops significantly during events at the stadium.

The regulars who pump thousands into the machines avoid the club during these events because of all the parking issues.

:vomit:

There's so much wrong with that way of thinking it's not even funny. In the time since I finished school they've killed a nightclub that was known even within Sydney, destroyed the vibe of the place and turned it in to a soulless hole that revolves around pokies. What used to be the default spot to go out or somewhere you could be sure to bump in to someone you knew on a night out is now somewhere I have no interest in outside of game day or visiting the chinese upstairs.

. cutting the Club's grass?!

. if it puts the impossible dream to bed* then it should be seen as a good thing ... maybe they'll turn their focus to being a football club first - not being distracted by shit that they have little control over, or much chance of executing

. sorting out the football part of the Club is the best way to ensure the Mariners don't disappear

* the Club's plans revolve around effectively gaining control of publicly held land and their experience of delivering property development for the benefit of the club is not exactly stellar
