ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

That is incredible from Rosey.

Here’s the thing. Rosey is now becoming a coach, Macca is coaching at IFS and jets youth despite living on the coast, kwassie, porter, patty z, Heffernan is with Wanderers youth despite living on the coast. Even Crowell to a lesser extent. Is Damien Brown still with the club in any role? All of these guys love CCM.

Get these blokes involved in the f**king football department and even on the first team coach staff, or youth or in the academy and things might just f**king turn around. Gumps is back involved in the club but not coaching. I’m sure Monty doesn’t have all his badges yet, but he was given his gig based on experience and footy knowledge. Everyone one of those blokes is exactly the same as Monty. They actually know football and are all extremely intelligent with how they implement it.

The jets threw Joel Griffiths into a major backroom role with no experience, purely for football knowledge and they’ve snaked our most effective player with his dirty hands all over it.

I've said this before, but after tonight I have to say it again. I wish MC hadn't bought the club and paid off the debts. I wish he'd let it sink, at least we'd have gone out on a high. I wouldn't have wasted the last five years of my life following this shit, years that at my age I don't have too many left. I won't be going to the rest of this year's games and unless there's a huge change during the off-season I won't be going to any next season either. I've got better things to do with my time and money. At least I can smile at the results coming through by the Baggies and the Blues. And, of course, I still have my beloved Collingwood.

It is indeed incredible from Rosey - and quite welcome I must say! I wouldn't mind more mariners Legends to come forward and be as forthright.

Gumpsy is at the CCM in a young player oversight role.
Macca left IFS last year to take up a full time role with the jets and lives in Newcastle. Kwassie, Porter and Patty Z (and Gumps) are all still coaching at IFS as well as coaching club football. Damien Brown works at IFS but otherwise has no other real involvement with CCM.

In reference to Rosey's spray of the 3Ms the only one I think has any control over their own future is Charlesworth. The other two must have questions raised. (People may ask questions of Mike C but he has his destiny in his own hands)

I'm not convinced by the coaching talent in Australia at the moment. TBH Arnie and Ange were light years ahead of the rest. Muscat and Popovic only seem to excel when the have the best squads. What do they really value add?

Maybe Phelan's primary job for us should be to find an good young manager from England that is prepared to work to rebuild our culture, not only of fighting for the short, but expecting to win or at the very least compete at the top.
That means top 2 or 3 not scraping into the six. I'd like to see if someone could be identified and some of the guys you mentioned were involved with the club through coaching, academy, ambassadorial roles.

Shaun, while not responsible for the football side, you would think is responsible for membership, crowds. community engagements, sponsorship, advertising, council and media relations. How many of these areas are travelling well? As well, what role has he played in the football side?

Any end of season review will make for nervous times for Mike and Shaun.

The time has come for us fans to stand up and be counted. I’m not good with all this technology and stuff but willing to help. Can we start a online petition Charlesworth out , Mulvey out, sign Tommy something along these lines. We all vent on here but the club doesn’t care. Surely if we can post the survey on other sites Facebook etc then send it to Shaun. Maybe also arrange something on game day protest signs try and get everyone involved not just people on this site let’s reach out to all members and central coast public.

That’s exactly if we can get this happening and hand it to Shaun hopefully we get a response. If we can get not just members but the central coast community to sign this maybe even Singo and some high up people. We as the central coast need and want a national football team to be proud of.

There does desperately need to be change.

I’m not as angry at Shaun as others, as I don’t know enough to be convinced he’s at fault for what I perceive to be our key failings.

Sponsors, broader relationships (even fans until this year) and sustaining membership numbers, all despite how horrific we’ve been, have seemed ok to very good work from what I can tell.

I think this is largely all about on field performances, recruitment and player retention, and how that intersects with our budget and coaching group.

It will mean yet another cycle of disruption, but I think Mulvey, Monty and Nash have to go based on their failure and just how hard it will be to ever restore faith in them from a fans perspective.

But doesn’t Shaun hire those ppl that make those decisions re recruitment and on field proformance hence him being at fault?

There is no point is asking for Charlesworth out, he owns it.

Yep. We just have to have a total clean out, most players released - as per i think it was Michaels post I thought was accurate - and bring in new people, new energy, new ideas, and (sigh) new hope.

We tried the ‘mariners of old’ we need mariners of new.

And if people really want to know what’s caused this cycle of never ending pain... there’s one thing no ones talking about...

We’ve been rubbish ever since we lost Marvin.

Bring back our beloved mutant penguin bumblebee freak and break the curse.

If any one has first hand knowledge what roles people have at the club it’s Rose. So if he has named Shaun then he clearly thinks he is not doing his job properly. That’s enough for me.

A fair point. There’s definitely some issues that seem to go beyond just MM. Like how come with the weakest keeper in the league we have no one pushing for the position? Does anyone above the manager need to sign off on player acquisitions or have players been forced on MM? Who allowed the strength and conditioning situation to go the way it did? Why did no one question 1 year contracts for NPL or recovering talent that left them open to poaching?

I don’t blame him for hiring mulvey and Monty. It’s failed. But everyone I saw was happy about Monty’s appointment and most were happy about Mulvey also.

Exactly. But do we know Shaun was responsible in those areas?

Could be coaches, could be Phelan, could even be MC who has been making the final calls. It might all be on Shaun too, and as CEO he’ll always have to put up his hand and can never be blameless.

But hes always seemed like an honest, intelligent, hard working guy who genuinely cares about the club. So I don’t know he deserves the vitriol some are dishing out either.

I’m not saying he’s one thing or the other. But I do know even the most talented people or teams still get things wrong and fail.

The result is not likeable, but whether someone screwed up by sheer laziness and incompetence, versus hard work and best intentions that went horribly awry, matters I think.

I’ve said it a few times previously but I really believe the club had the right intentions with MM but got sold a dud. Football media was putting him forward as a candidate to bail us out too so the club weren’t the only ones to get that wrong. Still it seems strange that no one looked at Cisse for example and said ‘are you sure he’s got the pace for A league?’ And similar for some of our other signings.
