ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I'm the 1st to disagree with @Shaun Mielekamp (sorry boss) however, in this case, I'm with him 100%. From a strategic viewpoint this is spot on.

Surely the clubs number 1 objective right now is to guarantee its continued existence. One of the ways to do that is to build an intertwined relationship between all stakeholders (including CCF and members I might add) Its far easier to take back just an A league license but gets bit harder if there is a W League and/or Matildas relationship as well. Then you add in Rowdys point about new revenue streams.

I personally think a WL side is crucial for us. Its the one market that other codes are scared of and cant fill (despite trying).

We saw last night that we are probably only 3 or 4 actual footballers away from a competitive side and apart from some obvious examples, no one can fault the side for effort last night.

When you are in the shit, human nature is to react to tactical issues (day to day, next match) its much harder to focus on strategy and I personally feel that the club has been guilty of short termism in the past. If this represents an actual long term strategic vision. Brilliant.

Yeah I agree with all that im not saying those things are bad or they shouldn't happen. I'm just suss on the timing I suppose. I won't take words for gospel any more with this club.
Like I said before maybe I'm just being super negative.

All the above points you make,
- W-League Team
- Outright Stadium Rights/Control
- Matildas games

Can actually help 'make it easier to compete' as you say.

That's because ALL have the abillity to generate revenue !

Matildas games played whilst under CCM Stadium Management, even more so !!

All this ca$h can then be directed to the 'problem areas' that CCM face.

I'm neither drinking the Kool-Aid nor Rainbows or Unicorning but it's all just a case of, little by LITTLE. ;)
They also generate expenditure which needs to also be accounted for

Not sure if this was already reported in the thread or anywhere else but couldn’t see it so posting!

This hurts but good for him to head back home!

Would be handy if my phone wasn’t messing up

Hutch apparently signing on with West Melbourne is what I was showing!

Hi everyone

I thought I would get on the front foot here as many knew that yesterday we were meeting the FFA who came to the match. David Gallop, Greg O'Rourke and a couple other senior management came to the match met with the Council as well pre-game. The discussions were open and honest with a view to walk through some of the long term prospects for the club and the Central Coast. Key topics were: the Stadium, the COE, W-League, potential new CCM board members, a general club update and how to bring these altogether.

This meeting was requested by Mike Charlesworth who had met with everyone separately on his last visit and when he is back in a couple weeks intends to follow up with everyone to keep progress on some key topics. This was a very positive set of meetings and allowed the FFA to meet the new council and additional topics such as Matildas games, E-league and plenty more was all discussed. It was great to get strong support from the FFA and council, whilst much of what was discussed is still in conceptual stages this gives us the confidence to progress concepts into formal long term collaborative strategies which was the purpose of bringing everyone together.

Please know we will look to make announcements to members as things become concrete and we are working hard to turn idea's and opportunities into realities that will help the club grow faster. There is no sense in talking publicly about things we are considering, get hopes up and then if they fall through it becomes a negative moment for everyone.

We are looking now at dates that we can host our Family day that was washed out at the start of the season, our aim is to have some key topics progressed by then so we can share them with everyone.

Thanks for everyone who came last night on what is a night that will be remembered. Whilst the crowd figure was small the passion and volume wasn't - I want to personally thank everyone person to chanted, clapped and stood up last night because it genuinely made a difference.

See you on Sunday

Thank you Shaun for taking the time to keep us informed.

I was starting to worry about the future of the Mariners on the Central Coast. Probably comes from having folowed the North Sydney Bears for most of my life and then Northern Spirit, before following the remnants to the Coast.

This post has given me hope that the Club is looking at things that will make CCM a more permanent part of the Central Coast and make us more secure.

For all our sakes I wish you the best of luck.

Hi Shaun,
Thanks for coming on and shedding some light. I'm sure you can imagine how much it means to fans at the moment considering all that has been happening.

Edit: since I'm here - for the love of the club please lock down Millar to a contract asap - it really doesn't matter what else happens over the next couple of years, this one is a no brainer. (It should be pretty clear that Hiariej falls into this bucket also).

Even Zelic thinks Hiariej is class. He said on the fox pod that he could tell after two minutes and that we should lock him up and if not he’d fit in every club but WSW especially should go after him. Only time I’ve agreed with Ned.

Millar and Murray need to be locked up as well

Just screen mirrored this to Mrs Rowdy on our TV, brought a tear to both our eyes.
- Inspirational stuff, beyond doubt !!

His story & fighting spirit is a true representation that mirrors that of our Club's own & it's history.

Banksy is a deadset Legend, and is a genuine asset to our club, in that if any young Footballer or new recruit gets ahead of himself or the rest of his team mates ..... a 15 min chat with Banksy will bring him back down to earth in a heartbeat !

So glad he made it through his recent scare at Xmas, one that really sends home the message to all of us and the entire Team :

DON'T . EVER . STOP . FIGHTING !!
