ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hi everyone

I thought I would get on the front foot here as many knew that yesterday we were meeting the FFA who came to the match. David Gallop, Greg O'Rourke and a couple other senior management came to the match met with the Council as well pre-game. The discussions were open and honest with a view to walk through some of the long term prospects for the club and the Central Coast. Key topics were: the Stadium, the COE, W-League, potential new CCM board members, a general club update and how to bring these altogether.

This meeting was requested by Mike Charlesworth who had met with everyone separately on his last visit and when he is back in a couple weeks intends to follow up with everyone to keep progress on some key topics. This was a very positive set of meetings and allowed the FFA to meet the new council and additional topics such as Matildas games, E-league and plenty more was all discussed. It was great to get strong support from the FFA and council, whilst much of what was discussed is still in conceptual stages this gives us the confidence to progress concepts into formal long term collaborative strategies which was the purpose of bringing everyone together.

Please know we will look to make announcements to members as things become concrete and we are working hard to turn idea's and opportunities into realities that will help the club grow faster. There is no sense in talking publicly about things we are considering, get hopes up and then if they fall through it becomes a negative moment for everyone.

We are looking now at dates that we can host our Family day that was washed out at the start of the season, our aim is to have some key topics progressed by then so we can share them with everyone.

Thanks for everyone who came last night on what is a night that will be remembered. Whilst the crowd figure was small the passion and volume wasn't - I want to personally thank everyone person to chanted, clapped and stood up last night because it genuinely made a difference.

See you on Sunday

Something doesn't seem right about this .
4 senior FFA officials come for a general update? There is more to this and it's being hidden by words like W-League, stadium, Matildas.
I hope for our sake it is what you say Shaun and it's positive but once again this doesn't pass the sniff test.

I'm not sure what you're after here, if there was something really bad going on why would Shaun communicate with us at all? They wouldnt they'd just go and do it. People want the club to be more open and communicative but then they get responses like yours. Unless there's evidence otherwise we should take him at his word because if something isnt mentioned its either confidential or not in anyone's interests being public. Hopefully the FFA are just stepping up and helping the club become more successful off the pitch so we can do more on it, that's part of their job - although that's easy to forget with the way things were under Lowy.

......and I would be hoping it might help argue the case for CCM getting management rights to the stadium, and perhaps sorting out the traffic issues at COE and having a W-league team next season (are the change rooms completed now?)

They won't even give us a W-League team any Matildas game seems highly unlikely

With the investment we've seen on the pitch so far I wouldnt give us a w league team either. But when the expansion was announced and the question was asked the FFA specifically mentioned existing clubs (us) have an interest in joining the league an an expansion team shouldn't get automatic entry. The whole way they addressed the question was favourable to us. I'm not sure if our stadium is big enough for women's world cup games but that's another discussion possibility.

I am happy to see if Greg O'Rourke can confirm this with you directly rather than needlessly worry about conspiracy theories here. Not sure how things can be hidden with words like W-League, Stadium and Matildas when they are some of the very key topics we discussed. The senior officials included Ricardo Piccioni who is the FFA government relations key man, Duncan Coates who is the general manager for strategy. Peter Hugg was also there from Football NSW. The important point that I want to make is that we called the meeting, this wasn't a case of a FFA expedition.

I don't need confirmation from the FFA. I need my team to start focusing the attention for on the field. W-League team doesn't make it easier to compete Stadium rights doesn't make it easier to compete. Matilda games doesn't make it easier for the Mariners, our mariners that exist now, to compete. Things like a proper surface at the COE makes it easier. It just seems like the cart is coming before the horse and none of that stuff you met about makes it easier to compete or be a supporter right now.
My skepticism comes with an unprecedented start to an Aleague season. I wasnt always this negative.

All the above points you make,
- W-League Team
- Outright Stadium Rights/Control
- Matildas games

Can actually help 'make it easier to compete' as you say.

That's because ALL have the abillity to generate revenue !

Matildas games played whilst under CCM Stadium Management, even more so !!

All this ca$h can then be directed to the 'problem areas' that CCM face.

I'm neither drinking the Kool-Aid nor Rainbows or Unicorning but it's all just a case of, little by LITTLE. ;)

Right now constructive dialogue is paramount between all major parties, It seems to me that it has become a long time between drink's particularly with what was happening at the FFA . It's time for all major parties to get their house in order for the future of our game, there's know doubt we have all felt the frustration and notably by our own club but this is definitely positive .
