ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Phelan has been involved in a review lasting 7 months so far (according to Charlesworth)

It takes time to assess what's going on, make recommendations, implement them and then give them time to come to fruition and make further decisions. We do need to see some more immediate improvements on the pitch but a lot of things do take time.

You mean you got cut from the squad.
Also didnt they just beat Jets and Sydney FC in there last two games......doesnt sound to bad to me?

To be fair the whole NYL is a joke. The best young players play NSWPL1. I know of a number of young players rejecting NYL contracts because they would have to play PL2 over the winter.

Beating the Jets and Sydney in a Mickey Mouse seven game comp is not an indication of how well you are going development wise.

Yes mate. That would have cover half their football education and all of their schooling education.
But it's privately owned and run, meaning any club could come along each year and hand pick the best graduates.

Charlesworth should look to either invest in it or duplicate the model himself to have any benefit for the Mariners per say, as then when other A-League clubs sign 'graduates' the Mariners will at least make some money under FFA Rules due to them being developed by CCM 'themselves' as opposed to an independent school (IFS).

The school is privately run but the players are still owned by the Mariners. You just enter into a contract agreement with the school, for their education and some of their football. Kids need an education.

not being rude, but since Phelan was appointed we've gone down hill....all over the shop!
Disagree.
The academy should have been set up correctly with an independent oversight from the get go. I said from day 1 to my mates we would have to look to Ajax and barcelona for what successful academies do because we are always going to be sellers.
We didn't and we haven't. So we've got like 15yrs to catch up when all the other teams have the same facilities.
So you've got a review of how ever many years into our youth development we are. It'll take time and I seriously doubt Phelan has made any changes yet. Let alone appointments.

The Chinese are looking to buy the club. I’m a bus driver picked up a heap of them on the weekend I’m positive they were saying they are going to buy the mariners. English wasn’t good I might have got it wrong

Your English or theirs? :p
Most of the Chinese come over on the ferry from Palm Beach, so if they're buying, goodbye Gosford. :D

Are they Russian Chinese?
Falun Gong !
- they heard about the Church of Hiairejism and thought it was a safe sanctuary.

On arrival Mulvey asked them to try 'his cordial' but soon recognised know one else is signing up for his cult and high-tailed it

They probably said they were going to the Leagues club and if they were travelling by bus I'm tipping it was for the buffet not teppenyaki
