ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

There is no way anyone outside the management group of CCM could make a decison on whether to replace the Captain or who should get the gig if they did.

Unless you work with people everyday and can see how they project leadership or handle pressure, you cannot determine who is best to lead and who isnt.

Firstly, is the captaincy having an effect on Wilko's performances?? I have no idea why his form is so poor at the moment.

Secondly, would his form improve if he was stripped of it. My management of people experience suggests not. Being "demoted" doesnt tend to inspire people to be at their best.

Thirdly, who would get it?? I have no idea who the leaders of the players are and neither would most posters on here.

All great and well thought comments. However should Wilko be dropped to the bench (and many have suggested so in other threads), he would relinquish his captaincy and that poses that question as who would replace him.

Okay, I changed the question, and changed Osman...

Happpy??

and just to clarify, no where in there does it say "who ever gets the most votes WILL BE THE NEW CAPTAIN".. Its an opinion poll. And with most people calling for Wilko to be benched, we would need a new captain. Just a way to see who the fan's believe would make a suitable captain.. ffs.

If Bozzah was full-time, then he would surley be captain. But for our long term. IMHO, its gotta be Mile Jedinak..

mile does not have both the leadership or vocal skills to be skipper

the only two that possess that in abundance is wilko and hutch, but unfortunately their form is down at the moment

as was previously mentioned stripping someone of their leadership is hardly a motivational tool

As opposed to Archie - who can teach poeple to dive effectively. Had to be 7 or 8 'dives' and not a yellow. Is he a marquee player of marquee diver?

Wilko isn't a great captian but we have no one else.
Hutcho need to work himself out before he becomes captian.
Mile isn't a captian full stop.
Sasho is the only one who could but i wouldnt.
Boogs is to young so is Simo, Porter, Bojic, D'Apuzzo.
Owen and Osman no defo no .
Clarkey is one who is a leader of the team but looks quite on the field.
Mabye heff when he comes back.
And bozzza would be ideal. but he doesnt look staying.

I was unaware that Mile was a mute. What makes you think that he doesn't have the leadership skills? He is a player that leads by example and a prospective Australian representative. Numerous people have noted that Wilko is a quiet player and drops his head when confidence is down. Mile is our man

*cough* Matty Simon *cough*  :p

Mile comes across as the kind of player who could really respond and grow enormously as a leader if given the captaincy. But to change captains at this point could be a real kick while Wilko is down.

At the Marinators post season do, Lawrie made mention of the fact that we dont have an "intimidator" in our side like Musc**t, Moore etc and he is quite right.

Whilst it would never happen, I wonder how Gumps would go as onfield leader??

Wilko should remain captain for this season and to throw the captaincy onto another player may make things worse for both the old and the new. I honestly can't believe this thread is even here as it would do his and his teams mates confidence no good at all if they were to read it. It may also be the fact that Bozza gives everyone a razzling that is having an adverse effect on Wilko.

Wilko get ya mind on the job mate and do what we know you are capable of!
