Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Caceres ----> Wellington?

Shame that someone of his undoubted talents hasn't realised his potential here.Saying that i don't think he has done that anywhere he has gone. Sorrry to see him go but really, if he's not been picked and is unhappy there is no point hanging around. Hopefully we'll get a useful replacement for him.

He had plenty of chances to step up & be a pivotal part of the team imo. Showed lots of glimpses but as stated above, seemed to go missing a lot. His ability to beat a player & then pass to the opposition has done many a supporter's head in.

way to support the TEAM dickhead

question: how many times do you see the letter "i" in the following word - team?

hmm?

As all of melbourne said when we signed him, cant play for more than 30mins.

He looked good in 15 minute patches in random games, and rarely if he was to come off the bench.

Not a big loss, and failing massive run of injuries i could not see him making the bench yet alone 1st team any time soon.

for my money there was no better player to watch in yellow then caceres on his day...but hey lets keep on playing BigMac on the wing, etc.
Only players in attack doing well is littleMac + Simon

Dmac may not have scored, and certainly should have, but IMO he showed more off the bench going onto the right wing against sydney, than caceras has coming off the bench ever.

Furthermore i think caceras played his best when running off dmac last season, when dmac would hold up the ball, and play caceras into space. Unfortunately most of the time (99%) nothing would come of it as caceras would mis-pass, mis-shoot, or lose the ball.

No big loss IF we find a suitable replacement. This is a must.

lol
we got kwassie, they got caceres

this is very depressing news- and it must be said, I have now lost faith altogether in McKinna

McKinna- March 2009
"Caceres has the potential to be the best attacking player in the league"
wat a load of rubbish

hope caceres tears us apart next time we play!

just about every team has players that can provide a bit of spark...
we are going to be an absolute bore to watch- still it is laughable that we may scrape into the finals...ROFL

and have a go at me all you want- i dont care wat anyone here thinks, there is no way in my mind that Caceres leaving can be a good thing. He could have been an awesome bench player at worst!
I can think of at least 4 players that should be out before him

Time to support a new team Kareem?
Hate the founding coach and want other teams players to rip us apart?
KUTGW

Caceres has skill... but ZERO footballing brain... REPEAT, ZERO footballing brain... Its why he can't finish and goes missing.

Yes he can dribble, but after he's skinned someone, he can't make decisions or worse makes the wrong ones... passing when he should shoot, shooting when he should pass... He's simply incapable of reading the game and responding to its changing rhythms, and so unless its a match where the ball keeps falling to his feet, or we have the run of play that best suits him... he becomes all but useless and goes completely missing for the team...  Immensely frustrating to play next to players like this and even harder to coach. Virtually uncoachable.  Why do you think a guy who obviously has so much skill on the ball, can't find a club that will give him regular first team football anywhere? SO its time to try the Kiwis now. Hate it all you want kareem, but you can't form a good team with players who don't know how to read a game, and you certainly can't win a league with players who will only be involved for 15 minutes out of a ninety...

Thats more than one reason why Adrian going is a good thing.

Please note Kareem, my assessment is nothing remotely personal, and entirely based on being around Adrian personally for several hours, watching him play every time he's been on the park for us... and in light of how every coach he's trained under ends up feeling about him... But unfortunately you have posted that you yourself are unteachable and refuse to listen or brook any counter points of view. You are a Caceres prodigy.

For Adrian's sake I sincerely hope Herbert has the ability to finally get through/teach Adrian what he so clearly lacks... Because then... as Lawrie accurately said... He'd have the potential to be one of the best players in the league. But as it stands... He's not coachable, and his skill on the pitch is exceeded by his liability and if releasing him then frees up $$$ and space for a better signing...

Absolute no brainer.

But that makes you lose all faith in Lawrie now...
::)

As to your... "you can think of atleast four players who should be out before blah...blah blah..."

Every other player in our starting line up reads the game VASTLY better than Caceres unfortunately could. Give him Hutcho's positioning. Matty's heart and Vukos fire... and he'd be a world beater...

Until then...  Better his stripes are black rather than navy.

+2 - Hope he goes well with his new club - I simply dont feel the need to 'boo' him. Kinda sad, but we can deal with it.
