ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Bye Bye Sash?

Hopefully we got the last best bits from him.  They must be slitting their wrists up in Newy.

Sorry we couldn't accomdate you Sash, but that's football.  You will most certainly score goals against us, but even then i'll still respect you. You gotta do what is best for you and that's cool.

One older player goes, hopefully one desperate youth eager to impress can take his place. Who knows, we may find another diamond in the rough.

So what happens to the Squadron's 'Sasho's a girl's name' chant?

But then they're not that bright as while they were chanting that they had Jade North playing for them.

In all seriousness though, I think this is an absolutely dismal piece of managing.  A proven goal-scorer.  Does anyone really believe that Sash won't be scoring goals.  He should be scoring for us rather than against us.

Not f**ken happy.

OK, try this logic.

If he was a good as he thinks and all these Asian clubs were chasing him, why stoop to sign with Australia's worst football side that is likely to repeat next year?

Sounds like speculation, not logic.  Although it's pretty appealing to speculate on the Scum coming last again next season.  That'd make going to work soooooooo much more bearable.

I wouldn't have a clue why'd he go to Newcastle.  Probably some form of ego massaging included in his contract.  Still doesn't hide the fact that I think it's a sh*thouse decision.  I think Sash's still got something to offer, and I would rather he give it to us then anyone else.

maybe its because he is almost certain to play he full 90 minutes every round, except of course if he is suspended or injured

Point I'm making is that if we (who see him every day) reckon he is worth 1 year, he left because no one else wanted to take a punt on 2 years except a team in dire straits

Corica's ability to play for 90 mins this season is a case in point

We've kept Nik over the years, and that's worked out wonderfully.  How's he going?  Certainly not troubling the makers of goal netting any.

As an impact player Sash could have filled a valuable role (much like Gumpy).  Would he be willing to fill that role?  Who knows, I wasn't there during any contract negotiations.

When it all comes down to it though, you're right.  Lawrie and co. didn't see him in their plans.  Trouble is as far as I can see nobody knows what their plans are, and that's frustrating more than just little old me.  Sasho's departure to our most hated rivals would be a bit more tolerable if we had any inkling of who was replacing him.  From where I sit all I can see is some of our better players going elsewhere and our ACL aspirations going down the sh*tter.

I tend to agree but would have preferred he hung around during the ACL for squad depth

is Serious14 a Melbourne troll?

*yawn*  Same old joke.  Made even lamer by the fact I never referenced Melbourne in my post.

But you have been to Melbourne though so maybe there's some truth in it?

ZOMG, I was with you

SERIOUS TURNED ME INTO A MELBOURNE TROLL
