ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Bye Bye Sash?

hes gone to the jets on a 2 year deal and will play for them in the ACL I believe

f**k that - whether he's signed for them or not, he's still contracted to us til june 30 is he not?

Either that or April 30, there seems to be two kinds of convention.

But if you were CCM, surely you'd happily release him from end of Feb? Save yourself at least two month's wages (more than 10K). It's not like you get anything out of holding him to his deal for that time.

i think all the scum and mariners fans will sing Sash your a wanker at the next derby:)

I hope not, he derserves more respect from us than that. What he has taught Simon and to some degree D-Mac during his time here is invaluable. Sad to see him go but I wont despise the guy for looking after his lively hood and family.

they will love him just as we did when he started scoring, and besides when it looks a bleak as it does for them currently youd cheer the groundsman

Sash would probably ask for an apology off GVE for saying that he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

is he sharp enough for that?

but seriously, sasho's probably the last one to claim he's a genius - there's one thing he's good at and that's scoring goals. he will score for them, guaranteed.

sad to see sas go, yes he is arrogant but he is a proven goal scorer and pace never was a part of his game so although he is now older he is still a very capable poacher... id much rather show disco the exit door

hopefully the club has some new players coming in asap

I am still cranky that our club could not give him a 2 year deal.

I has allways proved him self.

The club has short memories did he not play a major part in getting us to last years grand final.

he is the clubs highest goal scorer,

He has to look after himself.

Does the club not want to do any good and ACL.

He fits in well with the team.

Gels well with our play.

He as a good mongral streak and works hard

Even if we sign new players they aint gonna click straight away. Regardless od who they are.

The club has dollars so use them

With four quality strikers it was always going to be hard for the club to keep them all happy. Personally if we have to lose one I feel it makes sense to let Sash go considering the potential Nik has - provided he can stay fit. I get the feeling Sash will retire at the end of his next contract and if he is asking for too much money - as some on here have indicated - it may be prudent to let him go. By all accounts the club want to keep him but on their terms.

Sure, he's got potential, but that's not what we should be paying him for. We should be paying him to score goals. He has had ample opportunity to score the last few games, but he just hasn't gelled with the team. The amount of times he's either not passed, run the wrong line, passed to the wrong line, means there is definate communication problems. I did not mind that he played the last few games because, as you said, he has potential. But, IMO, he has had ample chance to live up to it, and hasn't delivered. I would prefer Sasho to stay than Nik, because I think we could have taken at least 4 points in the last 3 games if he was on instead of Nik, but them's the breaks.

Of course, if Nik proves me wrong and proves a gun in the finals series, i'll be prepared to eat my words.
