I know that it would be ideal if all owners just signed the cheques but lets be real about this. Show me one major team worldwide where this happens.

To use the obvious, Manchester United.  It's common knowledge that the Glazers take Fergie at his word with regards to all of his transfer wheelings and dealings.  In other words, _they let the football people run the football part of the club_.

Turnbull has put his hand into his pocket and put his money on the table. He didnl;t have to get involved with CCM at all. He walked away from Sydney Fc totally pissed off and not really wanting to go back into a bearpit again.

He has two spots on the board. there are others there who can disagree with him on matters and vote against him. He is not a totalitarian - I doubt he would want total control of CCM anyway.

I thought he had years of expereince with Sydney Football Associations, been a board member or something like that (where he got to know Lowy)?? So maybe he knows what he is looking at, and not some dude with the cheque book only.

Bosnich may not have the touch after so long away from top line football. The suggestion of him playing in the A-League was put to him by a SBS commentator (Bashir?) and his response was very vague and very non commital (kind of like " Oh yeah I'd look at any sort of offer, and yeah I've heard good things about the A-League and how it's doing well") And that was all that was mentioned in a reasonably lengthy interview. His interview BTW, was very open and quite honest at times - he was quite prepared to properly express his views rather than give the expected clich response. He seemed quite emphatic that he regarded London as home nowadays. That interview linked on Page 2 of this thread by MarinaTed.

IF CCM thought he'd be a decent keeper for them, it would take a fair bit of coaxing I think to sign him. Long shot...
