Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Lets hope he isn't the marquee signing.

Not a chance. They wont even sign him yet. Bozza should pay us to give him exposure.

NO I can't see him being marquee either (for a full season, maybe). But as to exposure, more people around the world know of Mark Bosnich than they do of the Mariners. I think the exposure would be beneficial to both parties involved. We get global recognotion and he gets to showcase his skills to bigger club$.

At present he is only rumoured as training with us, have to wait and see I guess.

Exposure probably the wrong word. Re-introduction to the world game, should be inserted.

He did play a "friendly" in September last year (yes I know its a friendly etc etc) but he last played for Chelsea in 2002/3..... I have concerns regarding the gap but if he has been training and he is fit, and if he impresses LM and JC then we should all be ok with it. It won't be for the season - only whilst Danny is suspended..... (I hope....)

You have to remeber that if bozza shows even a quarter of the skill and desire to play he once had, he will probably be better than Danny. If this skill and passion are present i would love to see him playing the season for the mariners. Danny would also benefit from this, even if he didn't like it. The question then would be how long would Danny stay if Bozza signs.

Are yes! Pat Jennings. Simply the best (and I am neither a Spurs or Arsenal or N Ireland fan). What worries me about the Vukovic situ is that the pre season is upon us and only now are we trialling a keeper. If Bosnich isn't up to it, Nash doesn't have much time to fit in. All seems a bit late and desperate to me.

Agreed Bear, the master of the one handed catch.
 Interesting.Would you have been so complimentary if he had played for that other London team............ :p

We are v nice about Zola and he played for the filth. Jennings stature and the way he conducted himself as a footballer made him universally popular.

Word from the street is he trained up a storm......

And yes I agree if he shows the skills he had he would be the best keeper in the league I just can't see him staying here for that long

Just walked in the door after watching him train at the stadium

Wow

Those who have said he has no passion and is passed it, maybe should reserve their judgement till they just saw what I did

He IS fit. Has had a personal trainer for some time to get him into shape. He said himself he needs to lose about 2kg to be match fit and he is spot on. Reflexes, still got em. He is as big as Dylan MacAllister, but gets down well, very well, to low shots. Soft hands also.

And those who said he wont play, guess again. He will play our pre season home game against Sydney, words from Lyall's own mouth.

Welcome back Mark

If he still has it, it is exciting, this surpasses Aloisi. I remember the days when he was the biggest export at the time on the Australian football scene. There were no limits to what he could achieve and he played for some bigger clubs than Aloisi being none other than Aston Villa, Chelsea and Manchester United, the latter of which he won a Premiership with. This by far exceeds the exploits of Aloisi and the only player that has ever played in the A League that rivals and exceeds this is Dwight Yorke.

So I look forward to seeing him wearing the no 1 (presumably) for the Mariners and that if we are only given glimpses of his former ability we will be in safe hands

Awesome news :eek:verhead:  I love Bozza and can't wait to see him at Bluetongue. I envy you seeing him train when I'm stuck in Sydney  :-\

I am old enough to have seen him play for the "Coca Cola" Socceroos - he was probably the best goalkeeper I have ever seen : steel, skill and a wicked sense of humour. I have been so impressed with how hard he has worked to get himself back on track.

This will be great for the Mariners and should bring in a lot of extra punters plus top publicity.
