Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Aussies Qualification - What Now ?

As it is first come first served I reckon there would be no hope if you applied now.

If they are releasing 100000 tickets only, and say that there are only 80 nations (big guess) left that could possibly qualify, that would leave 1250 tickets for each nation.

And say people on average apply for three tickets, that would then only leave 400-odd successful applicants.

As Australia was the fourth highest subscriber in phase one, you would probably have to be right on opening time to have any chance.

I got match tickets to Germany through a mate's missus who works in the office at McDonalds. Got all three Australia group game plus a quarter and semi. All I had to do was scalp a ticket to the second round game against Italy which was easy peasy.

ZOMG - 3 Roos games coming up..... barring a disaster, the Bahrain game at Homebush will be a party-on-down carnivale atmopshere.  ;D

Roll call for Wednesday night??  Usual pre-game capers at the Brewery??

Heard on TWG they got 1.6 million applications for the 750,000 tickets on offer

there are 64 matches. 750,000 / 64 = 11718.

they're only *selling* 11718 tickets per game? averaged across the tournament, that's at best 29% of capacity (assuming 11718 tickets for sale for a stadium holding 40,000). at worst 13% (assuming 11718 tickets on sale for a stadium holding 90,000). where the f**k are the rest going?

For the Champions League Final just gone, stadium capacity of 70 000 - each club only got 19 500, and of that 19 500, 7500 were set aside for hospitality.  Tis the way things work these days.

Have a 3pm appoinment in Newcastle so will do the dash up the freeway again and probably be on the train at Tascott that comes around 5:30pm. Therefore no pre-beers I am afraid.

Hope the weather is better.

Quick question, what time does the Leagusy close Saturday night/Sunday morning? Game starts 2am our time.

That's why we should blow up all seater stadiums and go back to terracing.

Real fans would get 95% of the tickets.

Too many wankers in suits at the football these days.

We going to try for the "how many CCM fans can you cram into 1.5 rows at ANZ stadium" record again?

Wouldn't have it any other way.  ;D

We had 25 or so jammed into 16 seats worth last time - surely we can squeeze a few more in??

Qatar have been extremely poor in all three games we've played them in, and if this is no different we'll be celebrating qualification and the remaining two games will be academic.

Qatar really are awful, aren't they.

According to Fox, as of Friday night this is going to be the lineup;

---------------Schwarzer--------------
Culina---Neill---Coyne---Chipperfield
-------------Grella---Valeri-----------
---Bresciano-----Cahill-----Kewell---
-----------------Kennedy-------------

Qatar can go and get stuffed. It's not an altogether ugly lineup.

Granted, given how terrible Qatar are I wouldn't mind seeing Macca on for Valeri, but given the conditions, whatever, they can be as ugly as they want for a point for all I care, at this stage. They can even dive and roll around like little bitches if they want, what the hell.

Because by 4am I reckon I will be quite sozzled, and we could very well be the first nation through to the WC.

That team is perfect for an away game in Middle Eastern weather.  Bring it on.  ;D

Hahahaha, I'll be warning everyone in the general vicinity of Baker St. on Saturday night to be prepared for some very loud celebrations and general "F*CK YEAH WE'VE QUALIFIED" madness by fulltime.  ;)
