Qatar have been extremely poor in all three games we've played them in, and if this is no different we'll be celebrating qualification and the remaining two games will be academic.

Because by 4am I reckon I will be quite sozzled, and we could very well be the first nation through to the WC.

try third nation through

south africa qualify as hosts and japan play before us

a win or draw for them and they are through

But just think about it, we've gone from being the last nation to qualify, through a shoot-out no less. To being POSSIBLY the first nation(outside the hosts) to qualfy after a relatively easy group. Amazing how times have changed

Yeah, life CAN be good!! Just don't want it to be a 0-0 draw, 0-3 would be fab!  :pirate:

Is it really bad to sorta wish that Weds game was the one where we officially qualified?

No... :) ... I want a GOOD, exciting win, regardless of the score. Reports coming back are saying the team is hungry and keen to get on with it... I'd like to see some of that. Perhaps I'm being selfish ?? If we draw  and only get the point to qualify, I hope the home games will be played with a bit more attacking flare (this only my opinion).

Andrew - kinda not ay.  The atmosphere at the Uzbek game when it moved us to one point away was awesome, would love to have but a tenth of the Uruguay 05 against Bahrain - needing the point would help that along quite a bit.

Re: Wednesday night concerning The Home End - an edited post from JTG:

"so to put it bluntly its our way or the highway.
We have constantly had the same problems from one group at front & one at the back
but this non working set up is continually being used every game.
as this is the last game it will be done the sydney way,
& we will concentrate on vocal support, not visual. Therefore:
1) we will stand at the top/back of the bottom section which is the rows in high 20's low 30's
this included fans all from sfc/ccm/nj/mv/br/other gga & non gga.
No GGA & bandwagons down the front, they are going to have to join the others, squeeze if necessary
& non of the 'we lead from front & u lead from middle'
2) the mega will be controlled by a sydney resident, unless passed around
3) we will not have large flags (no whinging) only small flags & standards
since there is no large flags that means you dont need to be at the front
4) end of story, no if's no but's
5) for aus v jap in melb, you can do whatever u like however u like

drum & mega should be fine to be supplied from sydney, the only other thing you can bring is small flags"

The only way you'll get anywhere near that atmosphere is if we still need the point against the Japs.....

So what do you reckon........throw the next couple just for the thrill of it.....

Top post James, lets pwn the GGA sellouts.

Given where we are on Weds, we can be part of this and show our Burberry wearing chums that the game has moved past them.

hang on
Bahrain can still accumulate a maximum of 13 points if they win their remaining 2 games...

Japan is currently on 11 so a draw doesnt give them automatic qualification just yet (a win would of course), a draw with uzbek is a strong possibility as the uzbeks will be playing their world cup final, if they dont win its all over for them

fingers crossed we are the first team to qualify (cant count south africa) :p

where was this posted james?

Part of a series of e-mails going around the last few days in which we were organising things for Wed. night.

Rather obviously I am 200% behind what Jimmy has said - Wed. night is gonna be that much more awesome. ;D

Anthems now - a bunch of Navy boys getting hopelessly out of time, in just the way that we always do. All enthusiasm, no rhythm, but I CGAF because we're qualifying tonight!

Japan has beaten us in by winning in Tashkent 1-0, but who cares, we'll join them in just under two hours.

0-0 half time, and frankly they've probably had as many opportunities as us, if not more. A draw does the job, but the football hasn't really rocked my socks off...

0-0 it finishes, and we're into the World Cup!

I can't say I'm jumping out of my seat, but I'm obviously very happy. An anti-climax, but we're there.
