ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Arnie, you don't live here any more. Stay out of the pantry.

Thanks Bladesmen. Though I prefer the reading on these boards.

Arnie's a straight shooter, but he has also shown himself over the past three years to be a good pro too. I understand while some have SUFC fans railed. Hard to take. Unproffessional. Who does this guy think he is etc But I think what some of the posters can't know is just how stunned/surprised he must have been by the process to have evoked this type of commentary. Personally, from watching GA up close these last three years, I think the immediate future for SUFC may be some pretty grim going.

I don't watch it, so I'll take your word for it. Though it seems a fair few of their fans would like them to at least consider it.

The Sheffield United CEO said

"We set out a clear manager profile to meet the future needs of the club to 'act differently' in terms of player recruitment and continue the utilisation of home grown talent where the club has been incredibly successful in recent years.

"The club has reorganised to create a modern football department and has established a new player recruitment function through a Head of Football Operations, similar to clubs like West Brom, Southampton, Cardiff and Watford who have all enjoyed an upturn in fortunes.

"We have also applied for Category Two status as an Academy with a clear football philosophy to take the club forward.”

It was also common knowledge that the Blades are looking to trim their budget this season as they were counting on being promoted. To my mind that is a profile that Graham Arnold would fit perfectly - particularly since the Walmsley is now part of the Blades Academy. It is how he has operated at the Mariners.

For Arnold to react as he did after being interviewed by three directors I would think that there is a major schism between how the CEO sees the job and how the directors see the job.

I just read this in an article about another manager and thought how it applies to Arnie. The words could be by Mossy and Hutch.

He's a very, very good man manager - that's probably his biggest thing. The tactical side is a strength. There are no secrets. He's just a very good guy who knows how to get the best out of people. He has had a lot of experience in big matches and knows how to calm the players down. He's a wonderful coach, there's no doubt about it. He's done really great work. I feel privileged to be able to keep working with him. He can make decisions so calmly because he's been in this position many, many times. The players have faith in him. The game is just an extension of the training. He's pretty straight to the point. The instructions he gives players are very direct. They know exactly what is expected of them. If there's one thing that stands out about him, it's his understanding of people and the way they think.

The captain is more than impressed. As far as I am concerned, he was the missing link for us. He was the leader we needed. He is a tactical genius. Everything he does has a purpose and it makes you feel so comfortable as a player.

Anybody want to hazard a guess as to who the manager in question is?
