ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!
If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.
ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.
Me too... I've seen reports saying he will stay with Mariners on an extended deal for the next two A-League seasons, but then any quotes from Arnie say he will be completing the original 3 year contract...I am a bit confused - has Arnie simply agreed to honour (upgraded) his contract or has he signed a one year extension?
"I signed a three-year deal two years ago and I want to finish it," he said. "I am a loyal person."
"I have decided to see that three-year term out (in Arnold's current contract) because of the loyalty and respect I have for the players, the chairman, the staff and all the supporters," Arnold said in a statement.
Confusing much?
...2 pieces in yesterday's Central Coast Express (sorry, not available online) - one an interview with Arnie, the other Mossy's column - only indicated he would see out the 3rd year of his contract. Also, PT's 'Statement to Fans', more recent than the original announcement, doesn't mention a term.Initial press release and Mariners website said:Indeed, Arnold has agreed to an extended, upgraded deal with the yellow and navy which will see the former Qantas Socceroos boss remain as mentor of the Mariners until the end of the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season.
In spite of this...

While I'm satisfied we have him for next season verhead: I'm kinda suspecting anything beyond that has not been formalised.
up until now i was somewhat unclear on exactly what Arnie had agreed to...

CHAMPIONSHIP-WINNING coach Graham Arnold has declined the job at English lower league club Sheffield United, claiming the club's "prehistoric" thinking would have meant a backward step for him in his career.
While he still remains determined to forge a coaching career overseas, Arnold, who led Central Coast to a historic first A-League title last season, revealed yesterday he had declined a formal offer from The Blades after mulling over his decision for several days.
"In all honesty, I didn't have to think too long or too hard about it," Arnold told The Australian.
"It just wasn't for me.
"Forget that the financial offer in itself was quite poor, but I would have been taking three steps backwards in my development as a professional coach if I had gone."
