Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It just proves that he loves the limelight and whatnot.
Cannot wait till we play Sydney next with Aloisi playing at our home ground. It'd be good to smash them for sure.

must say that john was a true professional when at the mariners - he handled the swarms and swarms of kids (and adults) wanting a piece of him so well and always with a smile on his face
always made time for the fans and was always interested in a chat, as was his brother

We were right not to up our bid to equal Sydney.....
Petrovski has mixed feelings over the departure of Aloisi to Sydney FC, indicating that while the Socceroos star made an indelible impression as the Mariners surged to the premiership - and last season's Grand Final - the team had to 'carry' him at times.
"You always miss big players," he said. "Aloisi is no exception but you have to remember he came into a team when we were top of league - and we had to adjust around him because he wasn't fit at first after being out of the game for around three months."
"We played to his strengths and he was allowed to get away with a lot of things. He struggled a bit with his knee (the same problem which has hindered his start at new club Sydney) and we had to carry him on occasions."
"The team suffered a little as a result but that said John's arrival was huge for us. It give us a boost, just like it will at Sydney. The A-League needs players of his calibre because he brings a lot to the table. He came to us at a time when we needed him and it was fantastic for the club."
