It's up to you how you participate in the community!

Also, no improvement in their defense line - and money's running out I guess under the salary cap. Sure plenty of stars, but when these guys take on Socceroo and/or Olyroo duties whose to cover them? State Leaguers who couldn't make a HAL club squad, and prepared to sign on for crumbs?

We've still got a solid chunk in the cap, as we lost a lot of big earners.

And our defence doesn't need a huge amount of strengthening. Two solid keepers, three solid CBs (four if Millsy sticks around), we've already got one fullback lined up. We need a left-back, but so does everyone else, then we're set.

Dapuzzo?

"Going back a couple of months ago I watched Sydney play against LA Galaxy and saw 83,000 people and I thought to myself I want to be part of something big like that," 32-year-old Aloisi explained.

if he really wanted to be in something "big" he f**king would have signed for Sydney in the first place. F.ucking TWAT

Alosi has gone, i'm over it.
Tommy P is a bigger loss than Aloisi.
If heffo gets injured again, sign browny on a short term deal (provided he is leaving us this year)
Marquee = great CAM.

They can have him. I'm not really bothered at all to be honest. And I think SFC will realise they have ripped themselves off.

Well, considering SFS doesn't actually hold 83,000 I'm gonna say one. The one they played somewhere else. The one where everyone was there to see Beckham. That's it.
I think he's just making excuses.

Aloisi: 'It's Not About The Money'

Jon Ritson
Mar 3 2008 17:22

THICK-skinned John Aloisi insists he wouldnt have signed for Sydney FC if all that concerned him was one last monster pay day.
To see the three in Sydney kits...

While the experienced striker is believed to have signed a deal that will earn him more than a million dollars a season, he says footballing potential and quality of life were huge factors in his decision.

The 32-year-old, who revealed that he was fulfilling one of his wifes wishes by moving the family to Sydney, wants to see the harbour city club enjoy the kind of growth boasted by former club the Central Coast Mariners.

The Mariners saw their home gate rise from eight or nine thousand to more than 18,000 and Aloisi wants to see the SFS enjoy an attendance growth spurt as well.

The man who first developed the Sydney FC bug while watching Novembers LA Galaxy clash is looking forward to the pressure that his marquee status will bring.

He knows there will be those who point to the finances rather than the football but he told au.fourfourtwo.com: I can offset that (accusation) pretty easily.

If I wanted big money I could have gone to the Middle East or Asia. Its not all about money. Its about living in Sydney and playing for the club that I think will be the best in Australia.

People can say what they want about me. On the pitch Ill work as hard as I can for, the team, the supporters and the club. I also want to do well for myself. I dont want to come here and look like an idiot. Im here to win things with Sydney FC.

You always get pressure no matter where you go, especially as a striker. I had pressure to score in Europe, with the Central Coast Mariners and now here.

"I enjoy that. Strikers have to thrive on pressure otherwise they dont survive.

Aloisi said the time was right for a fresh challenge and the Socceroo forward says a grand final defeat was not a factor in his decision to quit.

He said: It wouldnt have made a difference if wed won the grand final 5-0.

"I enjoyed my time, we were very successful but as I said, it was just time. The crowds picked up unbelievably for the Central Coast during my time.

"Hopefully the same will happen here.

While Aloisi is the marquee man he is just as excited about playing alongside his fellow new boys.

He said: I thought Bridgey was Newcastles best player in the grand final.

"Funnily enough my brother (Ross) spoke to me about him a few months ago and was saying how highly he rated him.

"But theres Simon Colosimo as well plus the guys Ive played with for Australia in the likes of Tony Popovic and Steve Corica.

While Aloisis focus is now on scoring goals for Sydney FC he does not believe his departure will suddenly spell the end of the Mariners success.

He said: With Lawrie McKinna there, theyre always going to be a force.

"Hell make sure he signs the right players. He signs players that are going to fit in and he gets the best out of them, whether they are big names or not.

So recently a Bluetongue hero, Aloisi is unsure how he will be received when Sydney FC travels to Gosford next season. Its a subject which has crossed his mind.

He said: I spoke to Lawrie about that two days ago. He thinks therell be the odd boo but mainly people will respect me for what we achieved and what I achieved.

"He expects a good reception for me. I dont know though, I cant worry about that.

So what sort of reception are we going to give him?

Yeah, a polite round of applause no doubt. He's going to get plenty of stick from the crowd, just like Collosimo will when we play in Perth, like Bridge will when we play in Newy and like Brosque does when we play in Brisvegas.

That is each individual persons decision and there will not be one view for all fans. Personally I still respect him So won't boo him but he won't be getting massive applause either. probably a small clap when he runs on then be done with it.

It may not be the best but at least he didn't join Newcastle.

If he has the nerve to applaud our end he will be seeing my back turned to him and nothing less.

Money grubbing twat with no class.  For shame.

I find it funny that Santalab lost number 23 to Aloisi.
'Look out we have a new marquee give him what he wants!'

Sydney poach more players than I poach eggs. And I'm a chef. Who also specialises in seven different styles of poaching.
