Most could not understand the true dire situation the club was in when he took over and were not prepared to give him credit but kept looking for ulterior motives for all his actions.
A lot of truth in that and also on the other side he appointed some very poor managers and I think they gave him some very poor advice ...

Also as some have mentioned he ability to communicate was not great more relied on the same ineffective managers...

Having said all this I don't think we fully understood how close a call it was .... Or did MC expect the reaction of the rest of the A-League clubs and FFA to NSO ...

Appears to me to be falling kinda into place .... looking forward to the COE or the next part being finished...

After all the vitriol that was posted here last year against him and anyone who dared defend his ideas, I think it is very fair.
Yes, I have to agree with you on that. I take dibo's point that not all of us demonised MC, but I for one, am a little embarrassed to admit that I thought the man was the Devil incarnate. Not only did I deomise him in my mind, but I wasn't too forgiving on anyone that dared offer him support. In fairness though, his CEO, Bruce, wasn't doing Mike any favours.

Anyway, I'm now on board the MC train. I still undertand that we have a long way to go and there will be heartaches along the way, but I'm starting to believe in the vision.

The best lesson for Mike was NSO take two.

The novelty wore off, Coasties ignored it and the pitch was shit house.

To his credit he came back with his tail between his legs and then got better leadership.

Geelong vs NSO is the obvious difference. Didn't even get its own thread

Will still be on the Freeway when it starts.... Like a large number of our fans. Especially on a Friday

Memo to CCM. We don't all work on the coast and get home at 4pm.

Guys this has nothing to do with fans. It's designed to get central coast businesses interested in the CCM brand and utilise Garcia to hopefully convert some corporate support, that Shaun has publically stated on here has not been as forthcoming as expected.

I'm totally ok with this, hopefully we get another sponsor for it.

Interesting interview with Garcia.

The last line leaves me thinking he may actually be open to another season with us...but then may just be reading too much into it:

"When asked about life beyond football, the 37-year-old says he doesn’t have any immediate plans and is playing everything it by the ear.
“To be honest I’m not focusing on post-career at the moment, I’ve been working with TV, been an ambassador for Liverpool, I’m enjoying travelling and talking about football,” Garcia conceded.
“At this point in time I don’t think about being a coach.
“I only take it a day at a time, I only concentrate with the two months I’ve got till the end of the season to put in what I’ve got.
“The club and the youth and really looking forward to see what we’ll do next season. I’ve got nothing more in plan after ahead of April.”

Garcia made this weeks team of the week

Heh - I thought he was having an off day yesterday as well... A lot of missed runs and miscued passes... But even at maybe 50% he was still a cut above anyone else on the pitch I thought... And that's not entirely down to how poorly those two teams are performing.

Garcia A-League future up in the air:

Central Coast Mariners marquee Luis Garcia has revealed this weekend’s match could be his last in the A-League against the Newcastle Jets this weekend.

The Spanish International scored in the 4-1 loss to the Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday night, and said it’s important for the team to score more goals.

“It’s important, always for a player to score goals, much more for strikers, I wanted to help the team, we aren’t a team that score many goals," Garcia said.

Central Coast Mariners will host the Newcastle Jets in their last game for the season on Saturday and the Spaniard said he feels he has given the young players at the Mariners some good advice on how to handle their emotions during derby matches on gameday.

“Of course, when they ask me about those games (derbies), they need to control the excitement and be focused on the game 100%," he said.

“Hopefully they can keep some of the things, we didn’t have many good results, I saw a lot of the improvement of the young players.”

The 37-Year-Old wants to finish the season on a High with a rivalry game against the Newcastle Jets this Saturday afternoon.

“I would love to finish a good result, people here keep something good for me, and its good to finish with a win, we can give it to the supporters," he said.

The Spaniard said he would love to go around again in the A-League, and has talked down speculation he has spoken to other clubs about remaining in Australia for next season.

“To be honest I don’t know, I wasn’t expected to come to the A-League, I don’t know what is going to happen," he said.

"After this I’m going to go home to spend time with family or friends, and the only thing in my head is to enjoy this weekend.”
