Let's start the "VanStratten to Mariners" rumour.......

Probably won't happen, but I certainly wouldn't say no.
The Cesc Fabregas rumour is more believable in my opinion. We should spread that one first...

A comment made in the Craig Foster thread about Peter Turnbull's grand plan to sign Cesc Fabregas. Has anyone heard about this and comment further?
All I can say is that it is from a reliable source.

Interesting article about the Gold Coast Galaxy here.

Claimed to have already signed:

Noel Spencer
Scott Higgins
Andre Gumprecht
Andrew Clark

that is interesting... clark didnt seem to give any clues to anyone last night at mingara. we all had suspicions he might not play for ccm anymore, but i was thinking they might keep him as the conditioning coach.

like its been said before he's got UNI down here
and is still a coach, wonder what will happen
yeh i remembered that shortly after making the post. so im finding it hard to believe. if the clark one is false, then how true are the other 3, despite them being extremely believable.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Yeah, um, no........

VanStratten isn't exactly playing much first team at Juve, but imagine the training and experience he would be getting from working with _those_ players??  Not to mention he's ex Spirit, and was born in Gosford.  That's actually credible.

Fabregas is a pipe dream.  A stupid pipe dream at that.  Plus he's North London scum.  ;)

Hahaha. i gather you didnt pick up on my extreme use of sarcasm.

speaking of a keeper from gosford, i wanna know what happened to that young goalie from lisarow high who apparently got picked up by arsenal or something. or maybe my memory is way off and that never actually happened...

Also, I know this might sound like heresy but I wouldnt be devastated if Aloisi left. $500,000 is too much for what we got.

"Three of the four are Jets midfielder Noel Spencer and Mariners pair Andre Gumprecht and Andrew Clark, with 33-year-old Clark to double as the Galaxy's strength and conditioning coach."

??? I doubt that

I also heard a rumour that Turnbull and Gorman are looking to sign Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.

Omg, you like, so went there.

If he does indeed go to Sydney for the $$'s then I'll be more disappointed than anything - he actually seemed like he wanted to be playing for the team, showed passion and all the rest of it, and if he's only here chasing cash, then he can f*ck off.  We don't need that attitude here......

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Aloisi packed his bags and headed overseas again. He looked absolutely disgusted with the decisions against the Mariners in recent games, so much more than just a casual "oh shit" comment.

The fact he's also made comment in the press about what he witnessed on the field at the GF would more or less confirm he's less than impressed with the standard of refereeing.

Hope I'm wrong.

VICTORY is set to sign Central Coast midfielder Tom Pondeljak to a two-year deal.

It is not known if Pondeljak will be available for the first phase of the Champions League, given he will sign after the close of registrations for the competition. But he may be eligible to go into the squad as an injury replacement.

im a little confused about this aye. he picked the mariners $500 000 offer over sydney's apparent $1m offer... but now there are rumours of him going to sydney because they are offering more cash that we don't want to offer...

maybe his fancy place on the hill at terrigal isnt good enough for him.

He wont go to sydney. Cetainly not for 1mil. There was talk of offers up to 3-4mil for the season in japan.

We would not doubt be offering about a mil for the whole season.

I could see him taking up the opportunity in Japan.

How Sydney don't go over the salary cap simply amazes me!

How does it amaze you?
Most of our players sucked.

CCM spent only marginally less on players than we did this year.

Thats what i was thinking sydney bring huge name players in and base a squad around them with less skilled players.
Mariners have a team full of good players that arent all amazing.
And most of the time they achieve better

sydney wont go over the cap... they have young guys like biddle to take care of that, and maybe santalab, seeing as he was a benchie for most of the season.
