I'm not optimistic. We just got a football lesson. their defence was very quick and tight. Ours was, well, just bloody awful, far too slow and not covering the man. I have no answers, not that I have a football brain after only 3 seasons of following our team. But right now, I'm verging on depressed. In spite of some of you blokes pumping up our effort I think that has to be the worst Mariners on field performance I have seen. Should I mention the refereeing? Nah, it'd just be sour grapes, wouldn't it. Oh well. I'm off to the single malt bottle.

ultimately I'd describe our team as being actually pretty decent in the middle third. just a shame we're not real good in the first or final thirds - the only thirds that count toward winning or losing a game.

My thoughts...
Sim actually went ok'd or a change.
Caceras played well and looked our best player.
Don't do to Major what you did to Duke.
We had a free kick and actually had 6 or 7 players on the edge of the box for the first time all year.
Monty was very good.
Posco was ok but got turned like a turtle on 3 or 4 occasions so has a lot to learn.
Ferreira is a few levels above most of his team mates.
Bosnar is very average.
Highlight was the brass band with the Chinese fans.....very funny.

Didn't get to see the game as no decent stream; not surprised at the result. We have not been able to produce the level of performance all season to suggest we are good enough for the ACL. I am interested to hear Cernak made a good impression as last time he did he was dropped. I thought we would have Major alongside Simon but from what I have read he was put out to the wing. Nothing makes sense these days.
