That was so good to watch. Wow, hearing the crowd roaring "MARINERS" on the telly for the last 20 odd seconds was amazing. How good was the goal?!?! Looked like we'd missed another chance, Mont slides it to Kim who stands a beauty up for Seip to volley home. Glorious.

Reddy is a saint.

On another note, Cernak isn't really up to the level. Looks like he has some creativity, but just not technically all there. Did give a lot tonight, though, can't be faulted for that.

The atmosphere at games these days is seriously FRIGGIN AWESOME. You know who you are, pats on the back all 'round.

What a team. This season saw the equivalent of the team copping a shotgun wound to the thigh that would cripple most. What do the Mariners do? Stumble a little then run even faster.

Set a little deep for a short period there after the goal but that was during the riposte. Overall I'd say we were comfortably the better team on the night. Should have scored a couple more and rode our luck a little - but what I really mean by that is kudos to some first class keeping.
We did get away with a cheeky little handball in the box though..

This champion team is a team of champions at the moment

. just have to say ... i thought seip was relatively quiet out wide ... and unfortunately a little error prone when he moved centrally

. BUT. THAT. GOAL!

. technically brilliant from what i saw live

. so i have decided the reason he seems a bit ... umm ordinary ... is that he is not being challenged enough technically. maybe we should be starting him at no. 10 - he might prosper

. well done to everyone tonight - top of the pool (at least for the time being) :pirashoot:

Great fun tonight.
Great atmosphere.
Cracked up when I saw yellow army had taken over a couple of corporate boxes
We were the better side.
Cernak is not much chop.
Griff2 is not a patch on his brother.
Siep was good and the goal was lovely.
Reddy is a brilliant keeper.
Bernie must be resigned.
Fitz was gash....where has his confidence gone all of a sudden

If you're referring to the hand of rose he was looking the other way trying to find the ball so clearly not intentional and therefore no pen... If another one I didn't see it :innocent:

How good it the atmosphere at these ACL games?

I don't think I've missed a home game in all four campaigns but from the Kashiwa Reysol match at the and of last year (which we lost 3-0) it's been great and building. Tonight was brilliant. How can any Mariners fan not want a piece of it?

Massive props to PP, the brasstards and YA for tonight. Now you know that rolling the dice to involve the stand(s) in other chants like 'Coasties' will work.
KUTGW and may it grow from here.

Interesting tactics from Mossy: we're just getting our defence settled lately and he changes it and changes again at 54m. I don't think Bosnar would've handled the pace of Utaka and that #8.
We were not the better team: if not for outstanding keeping we would've lost.

Shit well then. That was a bit of fun. 'sif not expect us to win. I mean, sportsbet had us at $2.75 and bejing at $3.10. They clearly know where it's at, right? Right?
YEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWW BBBBEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY top of the group, don't mind if we do eh!
Cheers for all that got involved tonight. I quite like the view from the box so I might actually stay there. Peace.

the band is better in bay 16

. i have to disagree (especially for the acl) ... i was secretly hoping they would come over to the eastern side ... so a great surprise. i think it worked well - very well

. i'd actually be interested to know how well the sound carried across to the west - being uni-directional and HAVING A ROOF must have helped enormously. i wouldn't say no to it becoming a permanent mid-term thing ... longer term: with 12k+ average and 60+% of the crowd on both sides singing most chants it won't matter where you are

. agreed ... my biggest concern was the changes during the match. the risk paid off in the end. brave work from mossy - generally the boys are responding to the faith, not fearing a mistake. responsibility of that could go to sim for setting such a great example

We were not the better team: if not for outstanding keeping we would've lost.

. i don't think that was the case. yes reddy made two outstanding saves (that i can remember) - but their 'keeper made just as many (although less spectacular) ... in fact he was bloody lucky on more than one occasion
