ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

That's a great story. It's all about having generations of fans supporting the one team and being indoctrinated into the team culture. It's impossible to compare the Mariners with teams like the Packers, but it's something we want to build towards.

Our club needs to engage the youth and over the coming years, make sure they don't dis-engage them. A big part of long term survival will be the transfer of mum and dad's passion for the Mariners to their kids... AND THEN... have those kids transfer the passion to their kids... and so on.

Last year was roughly 3,400 members in total.

We are a few members shy of 3,000 as we speak, with still a few months to go, and already doing much better than at this point last season.

For those who don't know, there is a 6 month installment plan, to make it easier on the bank account :)

We're up nearly 1000 over this time last year (from Twitter):

On July 30 last year we had 2,117 Members locked in for the 2012/13 #aleague season. As of today, we have 3,064, an increase of 947 Members.

We ended up with 3,600 Members for the 2012/13 season, and this year we're targeting 5,000. Visit http://ccmariners-memberships.com.au for Member info!

. i am curious as to what you would expect from an 'advertising push'

. there are so many possibilities and so little funds ... what do you think will work?
. and since you haven't seen much of what you expect to date ... have you suggested anything to the club?

Maybe a large ad in the advocate would be the easiest way to reach people (maybe this has been done and i missed it). Get a few thousand flyers printed and get members to volunteer to deliver these? I would do a few hundred. Put leaflets in as many fast food outlets around the coast as possible....i saw a few seasons ago this was done in a few Macca's, not sure how successful that was? Posters in shopping centres, libraries etc? I realise that the cost and lack of manpower will determine what can be done and we don't have alot of funds. Tbh if i hadn't been a member last year i don't think i would have seen the options that are available and how easy it is to join up ( letters and emails mailed to me).

Not saying we are slack ... BUT have a look at this from the Drive By's ... https://memberdesq.imgstg.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=login&OrgID=10123
I honestly don't understand the lack of memberships sold by the Mariners. They've done a really good job this season including hats and scarfs with memberships this year.

Membership deals present a good value alternative to purchasing your tickets on the day, maybe they need to have a larger emphasis on this fact tallying up the entire cost of the membership package if the items were to be sold seperately and comparing it to the membership price. The monthly payment deals are also fantastic and are available online too!

We seem to have a core following of about at least 6-7,000 people at all our games. Then we get a few 1,000 blow ins for the big games against scum, tards and drive bys (Which we have 2 home games against each this season instead of 1 of each like last). I'm hoping we get an increase in averages to about 14,000 this year, seeing as though we have had such a successful past few seasons and the community engagement is coming back.

Have they done any research into what are the pain points for people who come often but don't buy membership? One thing they don't have that some do is discounts of food and drink at the stadium, free transport to and from games on gameday. Prices all seem comparable if not on the cheap side compared to other clubs.

By the way, I think the Mariners have the best membership webpage of the lot! Good job this year guys! Renewing was seamless and simple and having the champion shop linked too meant I also picked up a few goodies with the membership renewals.
