ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Sadly no :)

You'll need to leave your furry (or scaley) friend at home to watch on Fox Sports unless your pet is an assistance animal, then they are permitted entry to the stadium :)

I have an assistance python, do I need a membership for him or does he get a free entry?

Just wondering if there is any reason there isn't a junior membership for the yellow army, is it considered you must be over 16 to sit in the bay?

There are a few us who would consider our kids old enough (13 - 16) and who certainly had great fun joining in with all of the singing on GF day both in the pub and during the game that are keen to go in the bay as a result but was wondering if they would be turned away for being too young?

. i am pretty sure they would not be the only ones in that age group in 'the bay'

. regarding the pricing structure i can only guess (a little social engineering perhaps):
  • previous complaints about 'language' from the active support
  • an attempt to keep the inactive 'cool kids' out of the active bay
. but somebody else may actually 'know'

Speaking practically, in 8 years of on-again, off-again bay action I've never seen anyone turned away, but it's pretty fair to say that the bay is at least rated MA, with adult themes, scenes of intoxication and occasional coarse language.

Might i suggest that maybe as a group, we try to get an area around the front of the capo for the younger kids to congregate where they're out in the open a little more so security can easily monitor their safety, they can learn the words from the capo more easily and they'll probably be able to see.*

I'd definitely not want to see kids thinking they can't join in. Parents should understand that there's a certain robustness to active support, and kids should only really be in there if they're mature enough to separate 'in the bay' from 'in the street' or 'in the schoolyard'.

* Without standing on seats, which as we know is very bad and not allowed under any circumstances. *cough*

The next generation - our future leaders - Should be encouraged to learn all aspects ASAP.

Mum: Where did you hear that!
Son/Daughter: In the YA at the WSW game
Mum: Don't you ever repeat that outside of Bay 16 ever again
Son/Daughter: Ok mum - But what is a **%^&^&$^%$^%$^%^%$^%$$$
Mum: Ask your father

In truth, you won't hear anything in Bay 16 that you wouldn't hear in any High School playground.

However, I would exercise caution if my kids were under 16 or so.

In front of the capo is a good idea.

Hearing unofficially that demand for memberships is way beyond normal. Great stuff.

I can see possibly 2 sell outs (WSW) and at least 2 big crowds (ADP United) plus NYE and the scum.

Not being a member might be a disadvantage finally.

Don't think they will be learning anything they don't already know so no worries about that, they have been around enough of dads football over the years to have heard far more than from the terraces, although first thing they all said after being ballboys was that the amount of swearing from the pitch surprised them given some of the red cards they had seen in the local comp for far less.

Will be happy to let them come across although might need to find somebody down there to hand over $$ every 2 minutes for them to go to the food stall if they continue the normal routine a games.

Definitely no age limit mate. Everyone/anyone is more than welcome.

RE: Swearing/adult themes etc - it's been toned down a lot over the last couple of years. I can't control everyone but I have definitely curbed my own language in a big way.

I think the GF really crystallised what active support is really about, for a lot of people - it's not (just.. hah) about getting drunk/swearing/hurling abuse at the opposition. It's not exclusive. We want people to join in, we want people to come in and get involved, we want people to enjoy the experience. I've made so many awesome mates in Bay 16 that I feel a strong bond with - it's like a family to me.

Mods, someone has hacked PP's account.

No Getting drunk, swearing and hurling abuse at the opposition? Wow, Scum away is going to be very dull next season.

Read - not only about that.

Scum away is a different proposition entirely and I will not be held accountable for my actions. I apologise well in advan... no, really, I make no apologies for what happens there. Heard it's a certain team's end-of-season trip that weekend as well (much like last year). Ohhhhh yes.

I'm all for ensuring that parents feel comfortable bringing their children to the match. Aside from the A-League's economic imperative, football should be for everyone.

However, 'everyone' requires a certain give and take, and that means respecting the active supporters. As a general rule (My observation from attending A-League matches at Bluetongue, Hunter, Parramatta, and Brisbane), they are young males who attend matches by themselves or with mates. In any event, they want to help create the matchday experience rather than observe or participate somewhat passively. In a similar vein, they also want to get a bit rowdy - those of us who have office jobs, for example, don't want to act like a suit on the weekend, and sport is a time to let our hair down.

Obviously there are limits, but the 'time and place' principle should be the yardstick for behaviour. Families have plenty of GA seats to choose from - there is no need, nor any fair-minded reason, to make the active bay(s) 'family friendly' if that's what some people (not necessarily those who have posted above) are asking for.

This is not a rant against kids - if their parents think they can handle some coarse language and colourful chants, and teach them about the 'time and place' for such behaviour, then bring them in - but it is a defence of a colourful atmosphere that I have enjoyed being a part of in my first season in Bay 16. Long may it continue.

(Apologies for being slightly off-topic, but I've been wanting to get that one off my chase).

I'm a Blue member from last year, but I'm thinking of getting the Yellow Army membership. Got a question: anyone know if the Yellow Army scarf and the Mariners Membership scarf are any different or are member's packs miles from being readied?
