ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I wonder what the Friday night policy is going to be. Do they put blockbusters on a Friday night so as to maximise the reach of the colour and excitement to a much wider audience, or do they save those games for Fox who have put much more $$$ into the FFA than SBS has? If that is the case, are the new SBS audience going to be treated to games with 6K crowds and no atmosphere? Hardly good advertising to grow the sport.

I guess I'll find out in another 50 minutes :)

I wonder why that is? Does SBS love Brisbane?

. i remember reading around the time the deal was done ... that they were looking at modelling things on the nrl - which apparently has a lot of friday night games in brissie. perhaps they have taken it too literally

. in brisbane?

. i'd prefer no friday home games
Wouldn't imagine they all be in Bris, as it was mentioned they can't be at home in Dec due to concerts, unless they shift games elsewhere.
Likewise I would prefer the Friday night games be kept to a minimum, from a crowd perspective (both the Sydney commuters and those that would rather stay home and watch).

I would like to see how many seconds are between our posts Atomic ;)

But Round 8 at home to Victory, hopefully first ever home game for me!

No Tasmanian game is a weird feature given Victory's sponsorship of our NPL comp

Realistically, being that there are ten teams and five games a week there's a 20% chance that your team is playing on a Friday.

There'll be 27 rounds so let's expect that each side plays 5.4 Friday games, 2.7 at home and 2.7 away.

Wellington and Perth will probably miss out on the home games because of timeslot issues, so they might only expect 2.7 each, while the others' expected home games go up to 3.375, leading them to expect 6.075. If we bail out because our Friday crowds suck (and they do) then we drop to 2.7 and others go to 6.56...

There may be a further reason why Brisbane would expect more.

Friday: 2
Saturday: 8 (4 afternoon, 4 night)
Sunday: 2
Tuesday: 1 (NYE)

Saturday arvo/night interstate games are usually best for travelling to (go early Saturday, come back Sunday afternoon).
Other years we've had hardly any choice, but this year looks good...

19 October vs Melbourne Heart
23 November vs Perth
14 December vs Adelaide
5 April vs Perth
12 April vs Brisbane

Anyone keen on picking one and making a "Tour of Duty" type thing?
