ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

OK, have a starting eleven for tomorrow:

-------------- Danny ---------------
Porter --- Boogs ----- Wilko --- Pedj
Osman --- Huke ----- Hutch --- Heff
-------- Simon ------ Nik -----------

Probable bench:
Redders
Kwas
Rizzo
Clarky
Elrich
Caceras
Dylan/Stringers (if Dylan recovers from his stomach bug)

I like the side and the bench tbh. I'm a bit confused about the Stringers for Dylan concept. Not exactly replacing like for like. Isn't there anyone else in the squad that would be more suitable to replace Dyl?

you have a big bench so there is already players covering all position as well as starting eleven players who can play in more than one position

i guess it is just a matter of putting the next best seven players on the bench regardless of where they play

stringers would be a fat better option than a d'apuzzo or mitchell lewis

Will be interesting to see which bench players will be used. Is it the stock standard 3 subs only rule or are there variations for this comp?

yep just the three, i would expect lawrie to use macca, rizzo/elrich and either clarky or caceras

Do you reckon Lawrie knows more about Pohang than they know about us?

Probably not - we still insist on defending a high line against MV FFS

:)

I think it was a 442 article yesterday that had him talking about some of their players. It didn't seem that convincing...not sure whether it would have made the Korean media wet their pants though. This really will be the great unknown.

Made for a fustrating press conference but I think the gist of it was that they studied heaps of Mariners videos and the danger men for the Mariners are Rizzo, Caceras and Wilkinson.

Bench - whoever

i like that lineup better even though macca and matty don't really work well together, with probably disco, adrian and gumps impact players, maybe smith possibly to be used as an impact player if a player is injured

I wish Kwas and Hutch were playing for Pohang

I wish you supported Newcastle. Ever thought about it.

Go to http://au.fourfourtwo.com/forums/ and check the posts from cool cat, maybe they could both get together and form a detractors group at the south end of bluetounge.

Question i pose to you razor, will there be 1 or 2 people there?
Ever thought of jamming yourself ursus...
Won't appologise for being frustrated with current recruitment lads, if your happy with our current squad then good on you, mediocrity must float your boat!

Seeing that we do not have a marquee, and knowing that the mariners will hold out for a good deal rather than jump at anything at any cost, i am happy with the current squad. Its what we have and any amount of rubbish posts bagging the shite out of the guys will not change that.

Your definition of mediocrity would be needed here as i believe that being in the running for the premiership untill rd 17 does not equate to mediocrity.

Read my post again genius! I was referring to the current recruitment of the mariners as mediocre. Why we haven't recruited a CB when there is clearly a nead is beyond me. Is that a good enough explanation or do I need to draw you a picture.
And I wish what has happened after round 17 equated to mediocrity, but IMO it has been a complete and utter shambles. Although I'm interested to see what you think, but based on your previous posts you must be smiling from ear to ear with the mariners current prediciment. Sounds like cool cat to me! Maybe your one in the same person

All I want to see is 100% commitment and effort. You cant ever ask for more than that and as long as we get it, no complaints from me.

(PS - That includes you Wilko, no dropping of the head please)

I've posted elsewhere why I think it is difficult for an A-League club to recruit in Feb/March in an expansion year, asked for a response and didn't get one. The recruitment indeed hasn't been inspiring, but if you think it through, it's understandable why.

I didn't mind when the negative posts had some basic logical reasoning behind them - fair is fair - but the 'thought police' are on the other side now: Be disappointed, don't look forward to our Asian adventure, wish painful deaths on the players even if they're doing their best and if you want to think any different, "jam yourself".

Kwas in Jedi's number... How dare he!
here here at least no one will ever take number 40 hope they still have his mobile number as they might need to SOS him after tommorow night as nothing will lift the team like he did at the start of the season and that is what they needed for the finals and noone even talked about it ?

If you can't recycle numbers we'll get well in excess of #40 before too long. ::)
