ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

What improvements do we want in Hal 4

After the spl games they cut to the hosts at the ground where they jibber for a little while until the managers give their press conference. Its usually a good end to the game to get the managers reaction to the game.

I know you can watch it on fox sports news but you have to put up with 20 to 30 minutes of motor racing, cricket, nrl, afl etc before they get to the football. This puts real pressure on a bloke when he has his missus in his ear about changing channels as the football is over. interested in is football.

I also don't know what the hurry is to end the coverage as its usually either world darts, championship poker or the american rodeo on after the game.

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
Nothing wrong with a 2000 lb bull jumping up and down on a cowboy either

(let me just say that i have no problems with rodeo)

no more salary cap. how can aussie teams entice decent players or seriously compete in the acl against teams who have unlimited amounts to spend

sure, if you like several clubs going bankrupt and a split between the aristocracy and the paupers like in every other bloody league. we've got to walk before we run.

Why do you want Matt Osman to score?
he already has a couple b4...

I would rather see Danny score...if we are up by 2-3 and get a penalty- he could take it!

2) we cannot get rid of salary cap. I hate to say it...as much as I hate the salary cap, Mariners wouldnt have been able to go as good as we did! Imagine right now!
Sydney would buy out every1 Aloi$i style...

Exactly - The Salary Cap is a wonderful thing and makes the league fair and close! Personally I would hate to see the same teams finish top 4 all the time like we see in England!

If anything increase the cap or allow 2 marquees in the future?

i like the idea of a fluid cap that is readjusted depending on the average sponsorship of all the teams in the league

well for 2 marquess we would 1st need to have each club using the marquee system...not to mention every1 proving that we could sustain 2 marquees per club- ie. right now
Sydney + MV could
Mariners, Adelaide + QLD maybe
JETS, Perth, NIx- no IMO

I would rather see MATTY SIMON score than either Danny or the other Matty, but in the mean time I will just continue to hope it happens one day sooner rather than later

even without a cap i still reckon we would be seeing the same sides and they would probably be paid the same amounts anyway

I have given up on Matty SImon
IMO he will go one of two ways
No goals= and people will call for his head
or 3 goals (no more or no less)!

You really think Skillbeck?
I think Sydney would actually have some depth in their squad (which would be scary)...not to mention Fred still at MV! etc.

most clubs would be sensible about the amount of money they spend. sydney on the other hand would overspend and then probably end up going into administration when they dont ever end up making a return. because i dont reckon the financial benefits of success in the A League outweigh the costs of a team in a season.

its their way of saying "hey, we need to build up our national side.. considering most of our players who have now gone to clubs overseas are getting old.. we need new blood before we send out our young guys to their future dreams overseas too.. how can we do this? i know we limit the a-league team caps.. that way we're sure to pick young upcoming players"

to a degree it actually works.
look at Jedinak.
I know thats a biased opinion. but there would be similar cases in other teams Im sure. :)
