ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

+1, have they lost 5 or 6 in a row?

And with the Mariners Bay is the seating reserved or GA? So we can stand up and chant where we like.

6 now. They say every win brings you closer to your next defeat. Does that work the other way around? Hope not.

Do we have anyone beside our defenders and Perez who know how to put the ball in the opposition net?

f**k but I wish that statement was a little less true.

Nine of the ten other teams all have 1 (most of them more than one) goal scorers who have out scored our strikers.
Still we have two games in hand still. But Bozanic and Weemac getting on target would be nice - though they usually both at least provide solid service in.

What bothers me most is that all our field goals have been almost opportunistic from close in in traffic. We don't seem to be able to open up defences and monster the keeper (apart from the one time when Matty tried to drill a hole through the keeper's guts). Is this because our strikers can't get into the open, or is our inward delivery not good enough?
It would be an interesting stat if available to see how many times the oppo keeper has HAD to make a save.

Kanwal have presso too. I think they've managed to put their presentation on a mariners game every year since season one.

Bloody Mariners Fridge calendar says we are playing at 3:45pm.

Perez confirmed as available.

Yay.

Other HAL team fans are talking about what a massive difference he makes to how we play. Some of them just to basically say we are shit to watch without him.

My thoughts, yes he is a class player, but the real reason is that with two large strikers who are unable to run at players - he becomes critical in linking our possession/play it out from the back style and transitioning it into attack.

If we had strikers who could create themselves or had the speed to threaten a back line - his importance would lessen a little.

If we had wingers with the pace who could threaten on a quick counter, his importance would lessen a little.

But with two non creative target men upfront and two wide players who are not speedsters - the CAM position is central to us being able to play any consistent attacking football.

Hutch can't do it - but hopefully Amini will be able to the next time Perez is not available.

Roar without McKay, United without Flores - would both struggle also. But not to the same extent we do.

However get us a fast skilful striker to partner one of our big boys and our attacking play will go to another level and Perez would not be quite as critical.

Pretty spot on.

Need a different type of striker. Arnie said on Saturday at Budgewoi that he wanted to bring Payne here. I'm not sure he is different enough either. (I tell you what ... doesn't help us now but give 17yo Max Glanville 2 years and he could be the sort we need then. Not sure why Walmsley isn't giving him game time)

Amini needs to be given some time coming off the bench .. he isn't ready for 90 mins. He's a great prospect 17 but came from AIS in the NYL .. he really needed a year in NSW state league where he would have played against men - wily old foxes and crunching journeymen to hard up.
