ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Thought experiment: Central Coast Red Bulls

Grahame Park Stadium has an excellent ring to it... What it was and what it is now...

I'm not a fan of Red Bull branding and the way they are setting up teams all over the globe. I would not like Red Bull to buy the Mariners. I would still support them but would not like the ownership being Red Bull, much like I support Milan but despise Berlusconi.

Atomic has it right though. I'd hate the name change and the uniform change, but it would be good for the team in the long run and good for the coast, can't let me being an anarchist and hating multinational companies get in the way of it.

I always thought that something like this would put me off. I can't think of supporting a team here that wasn't the mariners. But like others have said it's the coast I support. It's the reason I follow football here. They could have been called anything. If it was 50yrs down the track it might elicite a different response.

I would enjoy it. In the terms you have put forth. The colour change & name change would be the hardest to handle but for continued existence it may be worth it.

Easy remedy: make the Mariners Mates section in Bay 16 or 17, only people in old jerseys allowed. Constantly sing COYY and WSFY and Yellow Submarine.

If an offer like this was put forward 5 years ago I would have said no way!
If it was a year or so ago I'd say ummmmmmmmmmm... lemme think about it...
If there was an offer today I'd say yes please!

If it was a name change, colours, etc, they would need to be in it for the long term.
That (I assume) would also mean a bit more stability with branding, and I dunno... actually having merchandise available for the fans.

What would Daniel McBreen think about it....

. i'm sure we have discussed this before and i think most people have already hit on the important points such as retaining a central coast identity and financial stability ... i am more likely to actively support the central coast red bulls than the north sydney mariners

. if red bull are interested in supporting the best in class (my limited knowledge of them suggests this to be the case) then we would be a good fit ... if they want us to be based in a huge market then maybe not. would definitely require a skilled negotiator/salesman (for example why would man. city prefer the heart to us?)

. the concept of making the coast a high-adrenaline hub has some merit, could be achievable and would match the activities the brand tends to align itself with:
  • we already have sky-diving and wreck-diving
  • plenty of options for downhill mountain bikes
  • those silly moto-cross things seem popular on the coast
  • plenty of lakes and waterways for things like air racing
  • etc, etc.
. a proper motorsport facility on the coast would be awesome, maybe they could fund that too ... then we could have marc marquez and dani pedrosa as guest ball-boys (they're spanish, they must love football)

. another possible downside would be being owned by the red bull heir responsible for a hit and run death and using power and money to cheat the system ... or maybe that will fit the global football landscape perfectly (it would certainly make a change for us)

. oh and of course ... there is a soon-to-be-vacated brewing facility already on the coast ready for a new tenant

. bring employment options to the coast and acceptance would be readily achieved methinks

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
well...after reading the responses to the thread..I have to say that while I would have a bit of a hard time getting my head around "The Red Bull " Mariners, if it kept the team viable and more importantly , ON THE COAST, then so be it...I guess I could live with just a smidge of red in the strip

Now that Heart have been snared by Man City I wonder if we can convince Roman Abramovich to buy us out and put to bed those rumors about the Russians.
