ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Chuck one of the Kuol's in there or the young boy wonder from Adelaide.
But realistically, what are they going to do different in that system?

Irankunda might score the odd long range bomb but it's hardly a solid game plan to build a team on.

None of them is dominating where they are playing, at least yengi is scoring regularly for Portsmouth. Garang and alou can't even lock down a regular start at their clubs.

you can f**k Connor Metcalfe off for starters , useless lump he is , then the coach ....but still 5-0 against the Beirut diving team was a bit good...cudo's to Goodwin

Thought he was one of our better players the last two games to be honest. Other than Goodwin he was the only midfielder trying to drive forward and make stuff happen.

I'm on the fence with yengi. I don't think Arnie's game plan is going to help any striker (ironic hey).

When he plays through the middle he goes ok. Big, strong, decent feet.

Then he wants to drift wide and dribble too much. And he needs to harden up for a unit.

With decent delivery from Goodwin and strain (when he is back from injury) he could be a handful on the end of things. But we play too slowly and our delivery is too poor to really use his strengths.
I think he will be perfect when we play better teams so will have that space in the middle. He will be on the end of the counter attacks. Think his derby goal against SFC. That was a beauty and how he will best fit the team.

His touch isn’t good enough yet against condensed defence but he looks more dangerous than others have.

Perfect modern day striker physique

Don't know why Arnold puts players in positions that are not the best suited. Sammy and Nizz both on the right side mid and attacking flanks did not show what they can bring to the team.
Sammy is best wide left on halfway cutting back to the penalty spot and Nizzy is usually deep right in defence and runs diagonally to the left wing when on the attack.
Both so far out of their usual position

You are correct in that those positions suit their play best but still it was good to see them on the park, especially Nizzy for his debut so we can't grumble too much and as subs sometimes players have to play where the coach wants them.

As fringe players they've got to take the chances they're given and be versatile. It's not like he stuck them in CB. Nizzy ended up further forward later in his stint as he's been doing for us but didnt see much ball by then.

Agreed wonderful to see on the field.
The point was that Arnold should know debutants and less experienced players are more beneficial to the team playing in their best positions. Experienced players can be more versatile like Irvine was yesterday
