ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The rumour mill

mcbreen and his family were settled on the coast

last season when the club fell behind on paying players it was reported that monty had to borrow money from his family in the UK to pay the bills

paying off mortgages and setting up for life is alway going to win out when your a footballer in your 30's
McWho?

I seem to remember the move to Australia had something to do with health issues with his daughters or hard times for his family and this was like a new start for them. All I've ever heard is how much he loves the lifestyle and the team culture, I'd imagine he is working with the club to cement his future after playing football just like big Pat. But this is all just speculation and I'd love for him to finish his days playing for the Mariners and stay with the club.

Can he survive the charge of the youngsters? Are they to young to threaten him & hutch? Caceras has made us a 3 man rotation here.

We need an old head to show the young boys how it's done. Do we need 2 (Hutch & Monty)? Yes I do believe we do & I reckon we need him for the next two seasons minimum. So not an ideal move for CCM.

So it would be a $$$ only move but I wouldn't deny him that

Personally I think Monty has been our best player this season. Fitzy, Roux and Reddy have also been great workers. I'm sure he wouldn't want to go, though can't begrudge him if he does.

Wondering if the someone might be one of the players apparently not as happy under the new regime as they were under Arnie. If there are players having a sook, they can go, we'll pocket the change and sign someone who wants to be here. We're not winning squat this year, so now's the time to do it.

Definitely not going. Horse's mouth. Think someone got their wires crossed, he's just going for lunch at a Korean BBQ.

Seems someone is going though.
Ohh goodie another one - Bloody hell
Glad Monty staying though

This season no one should be aloud until after the season or we are out of the playoff race. No more instability thankyou

Just saw monty at erina fair this afternoon...

Had a good chat with him for 2-3 mins.
He asked if I was coming to the game tomorrow night...I said ofcourse.

Towards the end I told him that I heard he might be leaving us, and I hope it's not true, but if it is then good luck!

He laughed and said he isn't leaving..."no way"

:D

What a great way to finish off the week!

Good idea for the thread title change… makes it more generic and I think a single repository for rumours is more preferable than starting threads that only last for one or two pages.

It will be interesting to peruse this thread in a couple of years time to re-live some of the shit people post. I know I enjoyed reading the old Arnold Out thread. Boy, some people reacted irrationally when it was rumoured Arnie was coming to manage us. In fact, I suspect that a couple of people were so embarrassed by the shit they wrote that they no longer frequent this site.

If the other someone is Duke I won't be upset to see him replaced. He doesn't look like he'll be used by Moss as he should be & he needs alot of coaching in regards to first touch & carrying the ball. We need a first 11 striker. Not 4 second string ones.

Scotty,

Can't agree this time.

Duke is a diamond that just needs some polish.

For me the problem is playing a single striker. None of our strikers are suitable to play a loan target man.

Improve our set up....and Mossy has been improving the structure a little....and Duke will be a very important part of the puzzle.
