ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

seems orchestrated if you ask me.

As soon as WSYD is announced Tinkler pulls the pin on Jets. FFA will have to fund it. They have no choice.

Palmer didn't hurt much, this ones stings. Lowy has no choice but to change. Leadership, owners structure, CEO, something has to change otherwise there will be no investor in this country ready to part ways with their money.

As much as I hate the Jest, this is massive and will have a HUGE ripple effect on the A-league. If FFA don't step up and start taking these owners seriously, there will be no A-league... END OF!! It seems BB & FL have ALOT to hide or they would've fronted up with some sort of figures(even if they were fudged) and tried to resolve issues raised by the consortium of owners.... instead they try to look like they're doing the right thing by putting together a "sub committee" to then report to the FFA board... or straight up ignore the questions being asked.... what a load of $hit!!

For the whole footballing community, I hope they see the sense in all this and sort their $h!t out.... AND FAST!!!

Honesty the day I feel sorry for a billionaire mining magnate complaining he now thinks he's been over charged is the day I want out.

Beyond ludicrous. Does anyone really believe he failed to do his due diligence, or feel pity if he's now turning around and having buyers remorse? I have learnt some hard lessons in my life from businessmen of the ilk of Tinkler. You better do you due diligence, or learn the hard way.

Oh and what happened to it's got nothing to do with the money, it's all for the community?

Oh yes, that's before the Knights license was stitched up.

Beggars belief anyone falls for the actions of people with such vile intent as to try and destroy the league on Johnny Warren day.

They care NOTHING for our game. NOTHING.

Too bloody right! :postcount: However, it doesn't resolve the League's present predicament.

Personally I would be a lot happier if ego driven billionaires took football seriously rather than dumping on the FFA.

True to a certain extent, though I think you're probably only talking about 2 egotistical billionaires rather than the whole group of owners I was more suggesting about with regards to my comment.
The group of owners as a whole wouldn't have sat down with Buckley & Lowy a few weeks ago if there were no issues to be sorted or questions needing answers. Obviously they all seem to want a little more involvement with how the organisation as a whole is run, but with Buckley, Lowy and co at the helm, all they seem to get is a dictatorship!!

But they're doing it successfully. Not haemorraging millions of dollars in the process. Massive difference.

Palmer may be doing it successfully but he IS haemorraging millions of dollars in the process:

The losses come as Mineralogy's mining projects remain at exploration or development stage. Other parts of Mr Palmer's business empire, including Queensland Nickel and various property interests, are held outside Mineralogy

Mineralogy owns rights to huge magnetite iron ore deposits in the Pilbara and thermal coal deposits in Queensland's Galilee Basin, but its mines are not yet in production and generating income. The accounts show Mineralogy and its subsidiaries reported net losses of $58.5 million in 2008-09, $29 million in 2009-10 and $11.4 million in 2010-11.

Do the bolded sections mean nothing?

At times like these I wish I had business acumen

It says "The losses come as Mineralogy's mining projects remain at exploration or development stage." - meaning they have nothing to sell yet.

It would be like if you opened a bakery and were fitting out the shop, hadn't even installed ovens etc, and wondered why it wasn't making any money.

Or if you were building a "Centre of Excellence" and were only at stage 1 of a 4 stage plan and wondered why it wasn't making any money.

Same thing, really ;)

This is an expansion of the previous link. Palmer also donated $800,000 to the LNP.

Why would the acquisition of assets be hitting the P&L?

I don't have any info on the above but you will find that the acquisition of assets will be written off over time (amortised/depreciated).

Also, wages and running costs will hit the P&L (depending on the situation). Combine this with no revenue and you have a loss.
