ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The new mascot this Sunday.....

They should wait until they see 22 pissed up blokes at Brisbane next week all wearing Got Beer Hats, now that would be a Mascot.

"CCM...if you really do bring in a mascot....thats f**ked"

Big picture pokey.

Sure, ultimately would prefer it not to be a pelican too, but mascot so what?

Kids free day... Kids petting zoo back... Mascot unveiled.... Coincidence?
Its for the kids and its where we should be putting attention and CCM should be applauded CCM for doing so not derided.

I realise that our undisputed rep as the ultra hardcores of the league may be put under the microscope as a result...  But if we want a very successful club that will be around for the long term, we have to understand that the kids of the central coast is how it will be built. Indeed the future or our club and football in this country lies with these coming generations of kids - we need to keep turning our player participation numbers into crowds and members.

The COE is another example that our board get this and I for one who plan to be watching games for at least another 50 years am very grateful for the fact.

A mascot is good for the kids and pretty much ignored by everyone else except for a few laughs and photo opps. At worst its harmless. At best, positively affects our brand and something that enriches the experience and helps our kids fall in love with their team and being a supporter.

Bring it on.

flare man??

I won't be there chief.  :p

To those decrying the introduction of a mascot - every club here has one (Toby Tyke at Oakwell as an example - http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs257.snc1/10430_147459056949_500446949_2554834_2022032_n.jpg) and no-one seems to mind.  Like Forum Phoenix pointed out, the kids love it and it's ultimately harmless.

ZOFL. In no way did I ever say we were hardcore.

I personally, just find it lame. I've never really liked the whole "mascot" thing, same with the cheerleaders thing.

And really, when I said it was f**ked...I was mostly referring to it being a Pelican. Cause really...

. are you referring to the supporters or the team?

. maybe it is a way to tone down our (mostly fabricated) on field persona as the big, bad ruff'n'tumble mariners. perhaps the refs and commentators will start thinking 'oh they can't be that bad look at their fluffly little mascot' ... or maybe they could just look at the foul count from the last game
