Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

At least Luiz Felipe Scolari did not blame defeat squarely on Mike Riley's incompetence. Without Scolari's admission that his side were second-best even before Lampard's dismissal then Chelsea's day would have been entirely bereft of credit. If there was any justice meted out at Anfield then it was that Chelsea left with nothing.

Defeat surely ends their title ambitions but that should be the least of their worries. Coming so soon after a near-identical tame capitulation at Old Trafford, this was a non-performance that spoke of a longer, larger decline. In a single age, the Roman Empire is poised to rise and fall.

If it does crumble, it will do so because of a failure to build solid foundations before Roman Abramovich's chequebook closed. Chelsea are now crippled by their own short-termism, stuck with a side that is both too old and devoid of any sell-on value. Even recently, that short-termism has been allowed to persist with terrible consequences. As Scolari only signed a two-year contract in the summer, Chelsea are thus likely to have five different managers during a time when Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United will have just one. In turn, Scolari's decision to make a 31-year-old his principal purchase was an appalling misjudgment and not just because Deco has flopped.

John Terry has provided continuity but October marked the ten-year anniversary of his Chelsea debut and since then not a single player has emerged from their academy despite Frank Arnesen being lured from Tottenham, at a cost of 8m, to take charge of youth development.

If it is a big call to write their obituary as a force, it is a bigger one still to argue that they still possess the staying-power to remain at the summit of English and European football.

Fixed for you James

If it does crumble, it will do so because of a failure to build solid foundations before Roman Abramovich's Frank Lowy's chequebook closed. Chelsea Sydney are now crippled by their own short-termism, stuck with a side that is both too old and devoid of any sell-on value. Even recently, that short-termism has been allowed to persist with terrible consequences. As Scolari Kosmina only signed a two-year contract in the summer, Chelsea Sydney are thus likely to have five different managers during a time when Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United The Mariners and Victory will have just one. In turn, Scolari's Kosmina's decision to make a 31-year-old disloyal, greedy has been his principal purchase was an appalling misjudgment and not just because Deco Adonk has flopped.

The FA today confirmed there will be no disciplinary action against Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa following his high challenge on Yossi Benayoun on Sunday.
An FA statement reads: "Bosingwa was involved in an incident with Liverpool's Yossi Benayoun during the Premier League match at Anfield on February 1.

"Referee Mike Riley has informed the FA that, while he did not see the incident himself, it was seen by his assistant Mo Matadar. No action was taken against Bosingwa by the officials.

"Under the FIFA Laws of the Game, the FA is prohibited from taking disciplinary action when incidents are seen at the time by the match officials."

I rate Bosingwa, he is fit as f**k, gets up and down the sideline like a machine, can hit bombs.

Kicking c--ts in the back is just an added bonus imo

Was at Tyne-Wear derby on Sunday and in a high quality game a point was a fair result. Newcastle are starting to get better and after me seeing them not win a single game i am returning to OZ so hopefully they will improve. Good to see Smith and Martins back for West Brom where we need 3 points.

Jimmy Bullard is having a scan on his injured knee. Could be a big waste of money for Hull City and maybe Fulham knew what they were doing?

I agree and so does everyone in england. FA has become a laughing stock over this one.

Apparently they did

Rumour is that Hull were prepared to sign him on medical reports and did no tests.
