ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Spurs owner shows interest in Mariners

My feeling is many of those running the A-league teams believe the next media deal will cover most of their operating costs.. time will tell if this is so...

The problem [if that is the right word] is the current Fox deal running over seven years at only 17 million per year in no way reflects true value of football... meaning most clubs see the next two years as struggle years and look forward for a much bigger media deal / exposure / sponsors in Hal 9...

The ironic thing about the TV rights is that when the A League was set up clubs had to show they had the means to pay their way separate to any TV deal because the TV deal was for $500k in the first season! All clubs had to prove they had the capital and the continued cash flow to participate in the competition otherwise they would not get a licence. Roll on 6 years and now the clubs need the TV rights to survive.

What would be a novel idea is to have supporters buy a brick for the clubhouse and facilities at Tuggerah. $100 per brick with your name placed on the brick. Every player who plays at the club would then see how much this club means to the supporters. your name is then there until they tear the place down.

fantastic idea.

Depends on what we aim to achieve. Make it cheap and accessible and hope to sell lots or expensive and sell few.

Say -
$100 x 2000 = $200000
or
$500 x 400 = $200000

Comes down to demographics I think.

The key is making it accessible to everyone who supports the club hence keeping the price at a reasonable level.

Well, low membership prices have worked well for the Jets, haven't they?

Despite the sarcastic nature of the comments I almost tend to agree with you. I think that perhaps the membership numbers for the Jets is more about the goodwill of the local community towards Nathan Tinkler than about low ticket prices.

Yes, the pricing makes it accessible to just about every family. I think the better question would be had Con Constantine done this would the result have been the same.

Kinda sounded like it, but I guess it depends how you read it.
Jets have extremely low membership prices... and I think they have around 10k?
That's a decent number in comparison to the rest of the A-League, but still pretty shit.
And have they made any money from it?
We're only a few rounds into the season, I would say it's a bit early to call low-low prices a massive success, especially when you don't even go into any reasoning about why you think it's so good.

It's all speculation. The article states a representative was present in the sheds after the game. They can come and visit the players all they like, but until they invest in the club and community it means nothing. I will continue to be sceptical until stuch things occur.
