ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The No one rates us chant is a must IMO

When I was young, could even make it simpler :

We're Mariners, we hate the scum
We're Mariners, we hate the scum
We're Mariners, we hate the scum
We're Mariners and we hate the scum

Could do both..
imho- the first idea is better.

I agree but we tried it last yr and only a few joined in, easier words could get more involvement?

Alternate IMO...

i.e. complex option is like a verse... leads into simple "chorus". Each time it gets round to the chorus it will pick up.

It would end up sort of like Yellow Football Team how it went for about 25 mins the first few times it was sung in that format rather than repeating the simple chorus over and over.

true, although Yellow Football was created in Newcastle and;
Away Support (especially in Syd/Newy) >>> Home Support

i was thinking of a barmy army wicket style chant that could work well in the bay!

it usually starts with the capo starting "everywhere we go, people wanna know" and at the end they'll chant "barmy army" until a wicket has been taken! just replace "barmy" with "yellow"

"yellow army goal"

Tho I saw a post you made about a Sydney song sheet ... its gone ... my reply to the post is below

From the Song By Jd Souther ( He was a member of the  Eagles)

Youre Only Lonely ... youtube at the end... with a very easy tune to pick up..

In part the song go's..

When the world is ready to Fall
On your little Shoulders
And when youre feeling
Lonely & Small
You need Somebody there to hold you
You call call out my name
When You're only Lonely
Now dont you ever be ashamed
When youre only Lonely

....

Slight Change

When the world is ready to Fall
On your little Shoulders
And when youre feeling
Lonely & Small
Now dont you ever be ashamed
Because youre FOLLOW SYDNEY

OR maybe

You should be ashmed
Because youre FOLLOW SYDNEY

Or

I be lonely too
If I followed Sydney

to the tune of the flintstones
Steve, Steve Corica
most over-rated player ever seen
from the slums of sydney
worst sydney captian ever beeen.

could use it for many players

or

you could probably chant this when the other time has a pently shot.

to the tune of if ur happy and you know it.

if your name is [players name]  you'll miss the shot
if your name is [ players name] , you"ll miss the shot
if your name is [players name] we all know ur gunna miss it
if your name is [players name] your miss the shot

or instead of miss the shot you could say kick it wide.

feel free to rearrange it or add on or something  ;D ;D ;D ;D :headbounce: :headbounce: :headbounce:

Over dinner tonight I was explaining to my mate the frustrations a few of us have with Bay 23 as a whole (i.e lack of co-ordination when we sing, etc.) When I got to telling him about how much it s**ts me (and seemingly plenty of others on here) when people are just standing there chatting instead of trying to help create atmosphere, he suggested we sing this. Credit to Josh for coming up with it:

(To the tune of 'You're the voice')

We're the voice try and understand it
Make some noise and make it clear
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, Wooooooooah

We're not gonna stand in silence
We're all gonna clap and cheer
Ohhhhhhhhhh, Woooooooooah

(Repeat until the statues in our Bay get the message)

The more I think about it, the more I think the acoustics of this song would be brilliant!

Not a bad song to use.
Very Catchy, use near the start to get a vibe going.

We also could use to help visually look good, everyone hands in the air with a slow and fluent clap

Dont know if any1 knows the tune i;m thinking of,
it's to sumthin like, "Da da da da da, Ole' "

Michael McGlinchey, Ole'
Michael McGlinchey, Ole'
Michael McGlinchey, Ole'

But does anyone else agree with me that the long, drawn out verses would sound great during a match? As well as being a pointed reference to those sitting and/ or not bothering to create any atmosphere?
