ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Ohhhhhhhhh Wilko, I would give anything, just 2 B like him!

That's Wilko's tune, has been since V.1, (YellowBeard thunk it) although he hasn't given us a lot of reasons to have sung it for some time due to our defensive record this season (last week he was great though), don't think he deserves to have it turned into something else, fwiw.

ppl in the bay only seem to be interested in taking pictures and talking aswell as chanting RUBBISH chants...new chants have been tried by ppl actually TRYING what YOU are SAYING...but there is no football culture on the coast and ppl dont get them unless they say yellow or mariners

Bay 16 is a democracy. If many people don't like a song, it doesn't get up. If lots of people like a song, it works.

If you don't like it there's surely three viable options:

Create a splinter group and support your own way
Accept the status quo and go with the flow
Accept that thing's aren't how you would like them, but try to influence the group to get it closer to where you think it should be

The people who go 'WOOOO' during the dutch chant annoy the hell out of me. I propose that they are in Bay 16 more for themselves than for the team. Whatever your motivation to go 'WOOO', it's obviously not to support the team because it ruins the chant and stops you from singing the actual supportive part with the group.

But, I could say the same of people at the other end of the spectrum. If you want to do things your way, regardless of what the group thinks, and you want to abuse people who don't go along with you, then you're there more yourself than for the group. If everyone had their way, we could be anything from ultras to hools to poms to turks to emos to bogans. What we are is somewhere in the middle.

I'd say to guys like you Part_Timer that you and everyone else would be better off if you accepted that now and used your obvious enthusiasm and passion to help pull the group in a better direction bit by bit.

i dont know there seems to be some names on the home page.
i stand at the top of bay 15 or 16 so if a group of people trying to start a chant i might not hear.
but i do remeber one time someone bought cut outs of a new chants so everyone knew the words maybe something a like could work??

From the back of 15, you cant hear any chants that start in the middle unless Jimmy is drumming.

I also made the same comment.

I think standing in the middle of 16 works... in theory.  As your voices (the main voices) are in the middle and are projected forward, you can't hear as clearly as when the chant starts from the back.

In the past, I do remember people being up the back AND in the middle.  Middle people advised back what was being sung, making the group chant in unison.

I agree with Brett.. sometimes things are the way they are.  You can either dig your heels in, give up.. or... keep trying different options until we find one that works.

With regards to new chants, it's hard to learn a new chant in the middle of a game.  I think new chants should be tried in Kendall prior to games.  Someone could stand up the front, say the words, then everyone try it.  We could also have the words on the projector.  Give it a few runs, then when we get to the bay, people will understand the words and the tune.

lack of participation is one of the biggest problems FRONT AND BACK....the chants fail because what looks great on youtube being being done by 200 when replicated by 5 ppl will harldy sound as good yet if 200 joined in you would get desired result....
new chants fail because of this and altho have massive potential are never heard of again...
yet chants like "everywhere we go" EI EI EI" and "goal keeper your shit" still get a run surely only because ppl know them from year 6 swimming carnivals...
there is a attitude of "im doing my bit im here" in bay 16, its not enough at all...by a long shot

"im glad im not the only one annoyed by this noise" and ppls reactions when asked not to make it and instead help in the chant is a echo of most of the bays attitude...

i agree i am hard headed in the way i wish the bay was and get quite frustrated when things dont happen, but surely that shows passion for wanting to create a real football atmosphere at our home games, we are suppose to be an extra edge for the team....we are sorely lacking in that department

bit by bit will be a long way and we need alot of ppl to really stand up and join in......new or been here a while, the only way to improve is ACTIVE particapation
ITS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO JUST STAND IN BAY 16

im still up in the air about the middle i think it works better than the back but thats debatable
the group in middle with help from back does work very well but gettin co ordinated is tough.

Im not a fan of this "thats just the way it is" attitude its possibly why the bay has slipped so much....

easy way to learn new chants is THIS THREAD its what its here for..the kendall doesnt work as many ppl dont go there who are in the bay...
the new chants we are tryin are not that complicated "lyric wise" hardest part is getting ppl to use their arms..altho i dislike mariners *clap clap clap* in the 89th min when the whole stadia was doing it and the bay were all doing over head clap it showed a glimpse of what could be....

sorry for grammmmma and speeelllling haha
