Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Perth were the better team and deserved to win, but the ref had no part in Ange's team escaping.

Milligan takes out Perth player and a penaly is given - Correct decision

Victory players blatantly encroach into penalty area befor Smeltz even starts run-up. No retake of the penalty - Incorrect decision. Nabbout controls the ball with his hands - no free kick - incorrect decision.

Pantelidis fouls Nabbout - soft - but correct decision. Pantelidis mouths off and is sent off - correct decision.

So in the space of a couple of minutes Ange had heaps of luck that (could have) meant the difference to being 2 - 0 down with a Perth free-kick to come from their penalty area to a situation where those 2 lucky decisions led to subsequent events that meant it was 1-1 and Perth down to 10 men.
I use the term luck because it irks Ange who is fast become a parody of the Iraqi Information Minister under Saddam.

The Ref (Gillett I think?) could in no way be accused of making decisions favouring MV - he may not have had a great game, but Perth hacked MV so much he could easily have sent several PG players for early showers, and there were a couple of opportunities for penalties that he just waved away.

Perth were the better team and deserved to win, but the ref had no part in Ange's team escaping.

It may not have been the intention of Gillet to hand the game to victory but he had a lot more to do with the outcome than he should have. My point is if you finish your chances you don't have to be at the mercy of the ref.

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
Gilletts biggest problem is his inconsistent...he either books everything or books nothing...how your game go's, partially, depends on which one of him shows up

smeltz penalty was a shocker their goal keeper went so early he could have walked up and
tapped it in. it was worse than danny's shocker against the chinese on wednesday.

I went to BT late this arvo to buy 12 tickets for Saturday. I was totally amazed that due to FFA being the most incompetent shower of shite I was told that only Melbourne Vicory Members could by tickets today.........WTF!!!!!!!
The poor woman in the ticket booth was very apologetic and said a lot of people had abused her already so I managed to stay calm.

Really, do these people at FFA actually get paid to make these retarded decisions. If so I'm sure Toronga zoo has so Chimps that would do a better job and only expect to get Bananas as reward.

Members were able to buy tickets a week ago.
Football family a day later
General public from last Wednesday
I'd suggest the person at ticketek was wrong. If it was at the stadium and a young lady, she hasn't a clue.

not necessarily wrong :redcard:
Ticketek
A Melbourne Victory Membership barcode is required to purchase tickets at this time.

VICTORY MEMBERS
Mon 8 Apr, 9am - Mon 8 Apr, 11pm

General Public on sale: Tue 9 Apr, 9am

A pre-sale is an opportunity to secure tickets prior to the public, not a preferential seating service. On sale times are quoted in local time. *Or until pre-sale allocation is sold out.

She told me 9am tomorrow. Useless for me as I will be working in Sydney again.

It's just plain weird.......do the morons at FFA think Victory will snap up 10,000 tickets today and we can have whatever is left over?

It must be an interesting parallel universe they live in.

Fulham,
I suggested she was wrong in quite a plain manner but she wasn't young.
She said the only way she could process a ticket was if I gave her a melb membership number.
When I pressed her she said there was nothing she could do as FFA were responsible for the ticketing.
On hearing the dreaded 3 letter swear word I left shaking my head realised all was lost.

I'd read about this away team ticket sale date, but didn't occur to me it would be a lock out for others. Tickets have been available for a few days though, so I guess they do have to give MV fans a bite of teh cherry prior to general public. But a CCM member lockout on that day seems a bit crazy, and as for a negative PR campaign, surely tehy should realise that many an average punter would have Wombats experience and go away pretty bloody annoyed.

Poor ticketek girls...

Cant imagine a full house on a Sunday evening with an interstate away team.
Not sure when we'll get back from Sydney so buying at the gate is the only option.
Might have to sit with the Mexicans... :poo:  :poo:
I'll bring a box of tissues.
