ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Oh Christ, that time of the year again???

As for the Roar love - people are probably remembering the season they had when they were gifted that grand final win, that's all.

Roar have been improving mostly due to north adding to a depleted back line and Bratton building confidence in starting attacking plays. BUT Poppa seems to have looked at the top 2 teams from last season ccm roar and built his tactic and shape around countering them... hes seen the possession game played and identified that playing out from the back is its weakness so structured a hit and run compact team that hate possession, love to counter and run with the ball.

I think Melbourne are the danger team to wsw, not the possession version that we ripped apart, one with Archie and Rojas running after quick lobbed balls with a narrow defence that sit deep

Hope we don't see it though, because it would have to be at our expense, really wanted a draw in Wellington so we would get Adelaide and wsw get victory

North is shit IMO from the games i have seen since he returned, and before.

Roar have some confidence, but i am not worried by them

North probably wouldn't get a start here that's for sure but he is better than what they had since smiths injury

he would be lucky to fill in for the youth here, could not believe he was in the last roos squad, since every team, granted only like 4 that i have seen the roar play since his return has had better aussie CB's in it. Seems holger puts most weight itno "knows what i want" since his training sessions lack intensity and would take years to bring someone up to speed

wrong thread but since we've gone there... I seriously doubt Holger actually knows how to scout players. its like he got handed a list from pim and continues to pick players who have played before rather than players who should be playing

Hi guys, well thought I'd chip in, from a WSW view.

Victory are the only ones who can beat us two (WSW and CCM)
Adelaide are rubbish
Roar are coming good at the right end but still even if they win the GF they still only finish with a record of 12W and 12L which I think sucks (bring on the top 4 and no more).
Perth are just like the daughters boyfriend at Christmas, happy to be there but not comfortable being there.

So from that I think, Victory will knock off Perth easy. Roar will get Adelaide on penalties.

You guys will take Victory and Roar will get a karma penalty decision against them to lose at Parra.

We will play again at wherever it will be and it will be a cracker. Hope we give a better account of ourselves than last time we matched up, but my gut feel is that your ACL games will harden you up enough to get the win, although I hope not. Good Luck hope you get there.

very kind of you ALFan, but I've no idea whether AFCCL matches will take the sting out of the legs or harden us up.

On tonight's performance I'm begging we play victory! Bloody awful, if not for a missed smelts pen at 88mins they would be gone. Plus nice flop nabbout...

They were dire. But they still got over the line. Dear me football is a cruel game. Perth led by example.
IMO we should look to play right over the bloody top of them. Make them respond to us. NOT the other way around.

In a bad year for A-League coaches I really think Edwards is coming up smelling of roses. As a former Olympic fan perhaps I am biased but if it weren't for an out of form Smeltz they would have been on their way to Gosford. Not bad for a team that was recently on the bottom.

The lesson from last nights game, put away your chances so the ref can't gift it to Ange's team

The Ref (Gillett I think?) could in no way be accused of making decisions favouring MV - he may not have had a great game, but Perth hacked MV so much he could easily have sent several PG players for early showers, and there were a couple of opportunities for penalties that he just waved away.

Perth were the better team and deserved to win, but the ref had no part in Ange's team escaping.
