ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Spot on - our early season crowds were actually better than similar times in previous seasons.

We dont usually start with scum and bling at home.

Though both of these games would have got higher crowds if post nrl season IMO

We didnt get any favours from the League in scheduling some of the games. Derby matches should be scheduled to ensure maximum attendance  - so not clashing with NRL should be something they look at.

Either scum or bling should be our NYE opponents as well, as happened in season 1. Maybe the club should put a bit of pressure on the HAL to ensure this happens.

The club should get good crowds to scum/bling regardless and have been using NYE as more of an "event".

Good crowds are likely regardless of who you play.

however.......................if the team is going shit, no one wants to go

Get a winning team and people will go

To be fair, the wheels falling off the team probably had little to do with whether we were playing home or away.

I agree. My point was only about crowd numbers, not the reason for the wheels falling off. Crowd numbers near Christmas wouldn't have been helped by the wheels falling off.

The huge gap in home games really hurt crowds though. Going to the football is a habit, allow casual attendees to get out of the habit and you have to work very hard to get them back.
Surely it can't be that f**kin hard to have most teams playing at home every second week, with allowances for the odd two on the trot.We only play half a season as it is ffs.

In our case no one else uses the place regularly so you'd think we'd have some say in how the joints used.

Good idea not to piss your landlord off though isnt it..........
Well we're just about the only c**ts using the place (apart from the odd motorbike or team of knuckledraggers) so stuff the landlord.

All home games to the new boutique stadium (hurry up and build it).......it'll be big enough to take our 3,000 crowds this season no problem.

3,000,rubbered,packed in under a roof, close enough for the players to hear the shouts................

Indeed it does seem odd. Though if price remains the same, they should get similar home games.

If we were playing all home games at home, i would have had no trouble signing up as soon as last season started.

Why is it odd? I renewed my Dees membership (AFL) 2 weeks after the grand final in September last year. It's odd to me that you can only buy memberships from a few weeks before the start of the season.
