ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

take out caceres of that last game vs Tianjin Teda and it would have been even more unbearable to watch IMO (can u imagine such a thing)

you reckon? he ran the ball into defenders constantly, gave away possession constantly, his passing was ho-hum. our threats that night seemed to come more from our work down the flanks through elrich, kwasnik and clarke.

the thing i don't get is that hutch gets bagged all the time for providing no options going forward and shit on the set pieces, and that's fine, but the bloke who's supposed by so many on here to be an awesome attacking weapon loses the ball constantly. hutch at least tends to turn the ball around to one of our players - he doesn't constantly hand it over. he plays simple (boring, if you will) passes that keep possession while caceres pulls out the tricks and puts us on our heels because he's lost the damn ball.

when we were looking good that night, it was actually because the simple passes were working, the ball was doing the work and we created triangles. hutch is almost always one of the points of the triangle. meanwhile caceres did a good line in falling over in helpful places and getting whistles (if caceres does it, great, if hutch does it he's f**king useless... ::) ).

Dibo, have you been watching what actually goes on, on the field?

Very unusual for many who post on this forum.

It can upset the prejudices. ::)

The Kwassie/Clarkie combo worked v well when they played CCL (until they were subbed) and again in that game.

Both are fit and have pace and strength.

Contrast that with how poorly it worked on the other side of the pitch in both games.

I think the fact that Hutch has been playing for so long in an often negative style, raises the hackles when you have other players playing out of position or benched.

Sure, those passes were probably more accurate than what Caceres did on the night, but they also put pressure on the defensive side of the midfield as their midfield surged forward or placed pressure on the defence line if they ended up taking possession.

If there's any prejudices, it may come from the Manager himself, and this latest press release only reinforces the view that Hutch is Lawrie's favourite son... I cannot recall similar press releases when Jedi scored a Socceroos cap, or when Danny or Porter got capped at a junior level. Good on Lawrie for taking the time to congratulate Hutch, I do wish though, he had done similar glowing press releases for other players who have made national team honours.

BTW, this is way off topic, are the mods comfortable to let this tangent run or delete if you wish......

Jets are scum and lets hope they implode again soon.

Any hoo - is LM's fapping over Hutch trying to get the fans off his back? When bays 6/7 have a go, LM must have heard it v clearly

EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle Jets defender Ljubo Milicevic will miss the club's ACL clash with Pohang Steelers in South Korea next week after succumbing to an injury.
Milicevic missed tonight's friendly with Sydney Olympic after a recurrence of a groin strain which has ruled him out for four weeks.

It means the one-time Socceroo will miss the the knockout round of 16 match at the Steelyard next week.

Also missing from tonight's match was Sydney Olympic's Mark Bosnich who was pulled at the last moment in order to fulfil TV commitments with Foxtel.

Shows where his priority lies, will find it hard to snatch an A-League contract now. Can't be running off to commentate when your are on the team sheet.

I think you'd find that Bosnich would put his TV career pretty much on hold if he agreed to an A-League contract.

Can't imagine that Olympic are paying Bozza too much coin either so he needs to make money somehow. As it wasn't one of Olympic's competition games, he didn't really miss anything for them at all except a training game done up as a friendly.

My bad, didn't realise it wasn't a comp game.

Sorry Bozza.

"NEWCASTLE Jets boss Gary Van Egmond has promised an attacking approach when they take on Pohang Steelers in the last 16 of the Asian Champions League tonight."

Happiness is a Jets 0-6 loss! Serves them right for taking advice from our Lawrie. The only worthy player was Sasho.

Not good for Aussie football though. I can see Rebecca Wilson sharpening her pencil...
