Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

From FourFourTwo:

"The final whistle blew straight after and sparked wild scenes among Jets fans - who were given Ljubo's entire kit in celebration, forcing the player to return to the dressing room in only his underwear".

Certified. 200%. Nutter.  We need more characters in the game, seriously.

FWIW, their 2 goals came in the 88th and 94th minute's.
We may be able to get Joey Barton very cheap

I'd prefer our c*nt centre back to not be a Terry-esque thug, more of a Vidic hard-nut y'know??

Oh, or a convicted criminal.  ;)

The Jets have had a good run in this competition. They have played vastly understrengthed sides. Even tonight Beijing left seven starters at home.
I don't give a f**k about any of that.

The facts are they've qualified and we haven't won for 5 months.

Pohang left their 1st team at home in round 1 and we couldn't score against them.

But.

It's all good.

Spewing Cova isnt here too...add dura and jado to that equation, chuck in my other buddy Nicky Carle as well **** what a team we could have had! How could I forget Stuey and Junior Dutch...all good boys..all sorely missed..more than anyone for pure heart factor Anton...RESPECT!!!!!!!!
Marko and his hair? I think he used to have a mullet, I used to take the piss out of him, those hair cuts only survive in the west of each city I have ever visited...hence good work Marko on getting it fixed! hehe

Gotta love Ljubo

Attention Ljubo - please stay in the A-League.  Your rants are nothing short of legendary:

"We're asking to get a direct flight to Korea rather than go to f------ Singapore first, stop there for seven hours, and then kick on. It was 30 hours to get back to Newcastle from Japan. Is that normal? But we went on a round-the-world trip. We should have just gone to Paris. I could have stayed there for a weekend, gone to a gay disco or two and come back home."

You just don't make that sort of shit up - and as for the first time Melbourne play Newcastle??

What I would give to have Miron and Ljubo commentate a game together.....

Somehow I don't think he'll be staying at Newcastle past the season though with rants like this.

And no 30 hours to get back from Japan is not normal. well okay door to door you may be pushing 22 hours with shinkansen from Nagoya to tokyo (2.5hr) then onto Narita (say an extra 2h with time to change at tokyo), 14 hours for 3 hours before departure and a 11hr flight back to Sydney and a 2 hour bus ride up the pac highway after clearing customs. But I doubt he's counting all that.

Seems the marinators on Jetstar flights were travelling better than the Newcastle team

That's not something I ever thought I'd find myself hearing..... my flight was 9 hours _tops_ from the Gold Coast.

YES! We need someone just as Dru described. Would double dare Hutch to pull some practical joke- like he did to Bosnich - on the first day of training. Barton's idea of returning a practical joke would probably be to torch Hutch's WRX!

Can anyone argue that it's false though, My flight back direct into Sydney was 10 I think in the end but worse case with a delay into sydney due to weather.

Having a search round I think they have gone direct into Nagoya from Singapore with Singapore airlines. but even that way flights and transfers are like 26hrs max going and like 24hrs coming back. Almost seams that Con has gone and seached the STA travel website and picked the cheapest deal. (pretty much what I did just then)

Unless they're arriving into Singapore from Brisbane at something like 2am and the first flight to Japan isn't for at least 6 or 7 hours...... it can happen - my flight from Bangkok to Manchester in June has a ten hour layover in Abu Dhabi.

Having said that, I'd think there'd be a higher demand for flights from Singapore to Japan than the UAE to the north of England, surely??

James, Wouldn't a sane person search out a better option? Say bus to Osaka then a deathstar flight direct to Sydney. Wouldn't of been that much more expensive.

Trust me I've down the crappy flights into Japan and yes you end up with 7 hour stop overs in Seoull Airport (about 10 years ago by myself at 17) catching z's on the couches but there are better options out there now with a bit of research

an 8.55pm flight from Osaka, with a change at GC would still get you to Sydney 9.50, 11.50 if your worried about your onward flight and giving it a 3 hr stop over. cost with 20kg checked luggage about $760 as opposed to the crap they went through and a $700 odd ticket that I sourced for singapore airlines

more from the maestro himself (full article here: http://www.smh.com.au/news/sport/football/a-league/ljubo-the-lip-vents-anger-at-jets-owner-over-amateur-approach-topreparation/2009/05/07/1241289314024.html)

Get this guy on the phone and bring him to CCM, instant legend, dead set nutter - love it. Also the CB we need.

But that's the reality. Tell him to lift his game. He would have been up there celebrating, saying, 'It's my team,' and all the rest of it. Let's see if he can put us on a direct flight to Korea this time, instead of making us have seven-hour stopovers every time we go somewhere. It shits us, of course it does. I don't see him on the plane next to us. We're the dicks sitting in lounges. But look at us, we're performing."

Milicevic said Constantine had failed to respond to the simplest of requests from the playing group, adding that Ante Covic's parting shot (in March) at the Jets' hierarchy was spot-on. "All the things Ante said, I agreed with. Of course it's going to shit him. People want us to come back from Europe and lift the standard. Well, if we've got tips and hints, then take them on board," he said.

"We're not asking for first class. We're asking for an extra room because there's no room in the change rooms to get massages, and now it's getting cold. Is that lavish?

"I said to him, if he wants to treat me like an amateur, I'll go back home and play for Dandenong City and I'll be a true amateur. But don't bring me here and then not give the team the support they need. That should be a given. But nothing is a given at this club."
