ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

a spectator code of conduct is the way forward, great idea but how could it eventuate?

Say the FFA gets the map of our stadium, highlights 15, 16, and 17 as areas that parents/families/sensitive ladies are informed when they go to purchase a ticket that "you will be subjected to the following here by active supporters, are you sure you still want to sit there".  Not much, but it's a start.  We have this debacle at every Socceroo's game in the Home End with families going "omg, sit down".

well thats a whole different issue, point well made though - someone told me to sit down in kaiserslautern in 06 when we played japan, i told them to get f**ked and go watch afl... back to the point though, something should be done to curb the level of swearing at matches... on the whole were pretty good compared to the others

Interesting stuff:

http://www.theherald.com.au/news/local/news/general/jets-chief-to-bring-squadron-down-to-earth/1380897.aspx

http://www.theherald.com.au/news/opinion/editorial/general/squadron-is-flying-too-low/1381251.aspx

http://www.theherald.com.au/blogs/jeff-corbett/infantile-soccer/1381927.aspx

http://www.theherald.com.au/polls/

plenty of ammunition but bullshit from the league heads

if the jets had closer community and media ties they could have averted much of this

These people are idiots. So much shit from the Herald, mostly because they are pro-league. That 3rd article you posted mick is an absolute joke. I can't believe he had the hide to call rubgy league "real football".

I've heard worse stuff coming out of the mouts of 80 year old grandma's at the Knights games when I was a kid to be honest. What did they want us to do? "yah Bridgey" , "C'mon Bridgey, score against us!", "we love you Bridgey, thanks for leaving the club".

try being a bulldogs fan going to a knights game and you not only get physically abused but also racially abused

I don't think it was the content that has everyone talking about it. (although the c word could have been substituted with another word and the chant would still have had the same effect)

It has to be the clarity with which it was heard on TV, it was like you were the only supporters in the stadium (not too far from the truth). Maybe a contributing factor is the position of the squadron in the stadium. Are there crowd mics directly in front of the squadron?

There is certainly alot of swearing in general around the ground from random punters.

But is more obvious to more people when sung by a supporters group

TBH, a chant containing the c word is not acceptable to a majority of people and shouldnt be part of a HE song collection -if that makes us "less 'ard" then so be it.

There is a difference between, say, an individual swearing at a ref or player and a 100 or so people swearing in a song.

Part of the problem at HAL games is that the vast majority of people are sampling a football culture as relative newbies and dont know the "rules".

Rules being, if you dont want to be surrounded by standing, swearing, chanting people, avoid 15/16/17. However, this is where the selfish wankers who ruined the EAS major semi come into play. They wont compromise in any way. They want to go into 15/16/17 but want to enjoy the match THEIR way (mute and seated).

If I was going to BT with young children or (say) my elderly father in law, I would go and sit somewhere else. Its pretty simple to avoid behaviours you dont like. I give up a view from the side in order to stand and sing, others give up being behind the goal so they can sit down for 90 mins in a "calmer" atmosphere.

The MLS ticketing system of selecting the level of fanaticism you prefer is technologically simple to do and sensible in the extreme.

Jeff Corbett might want to learn how to spell/which is the right word to use before he considers posting an opinion on something he knows f*ck all about.....

"As I right in my column today" - really??  You're a paid journalist??
