ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hopefully we will see him at Pluim taking an up and coming NYL players spot next week and he will be nowhere near the 1st team.

Sadly, I expect to see the torture continue.

So can we expect an audible boo from the bay when his names called out at BT next week?

Don't boo, just whistle, it's what people do overseas, plus it's easier to hear whistles than boos.

That's enough. Sign me up. I thought I had unlimited patience, but there comes a point where even that dries up.

Time for a replacement. Maybe Nik can enjoy his football more in the lower leagues.

Does Mrdja hate the Mariners? Is he deliberately crap? Does he purposely miss even the easiest of goals? How the frak else can you explain his woeful performance game after game? How does he even get a game? It just makes no sense to me at all.

NOT apologising, as the situation is what it is....
But Nik had an enormous amount of time not playing football.
Takes a lot of mental strength to come back from that and a huge amount to return to your best or let alone better form. Unfortunately the latter seems beyond Niks capabilities.
But there was only one way to truly find out...  and that was to play again.

Bit sad when this happens, as now it begins to feel like he was always shite.
He was in his day, one seriously good striker.

If he believes he can be or still is. Thats fine.
But he needs to go and be the dominant top scorer of the youth league for a season because how you could you give him further chances based on what he has so far turned in? You just can't afford to.

So as we all know...
We need another striker.

Last year, his performances for the youth side were about on a par with Mondays .

Whether the problem is in his head or his heart, I dont know.

Yeah saw those too.
Everyone's has always said it's heart, but he's looked more fearful to me... almost like he's been pretending, trying to convince himself that he can still play, instead of just playing.

No one can play well like this.
Wonder if he has been working with a sports psychologist on his path back?
It doesn't look like it. Could make all the difference.

Me thinks that at the end of this season, if not before that some decent strikers need to be brought in (Simon excepted). McAllister, Mrdja and Kwasnik are not up to the standards that are required in the comp.

We have a very solid back line, a fairly creative midfield in McGlinchey, Heffernen etc but it is the final third that is bringing us undone. After watching the last game you get the feeling that there just is not enough killer instinct or flair in front of the posts. Every time Sydney got into the final third of the field I always thought they were in with a chance of scoring due to their interplay. I think this is what is missing. Lets hope that they open up the purse strings and sign a decent guest player before the end of the season and spend some money on a marquee who is going to put bums on seats and score goals.

After the home game against North Queensland we have a long stretch of away games. Our record away in scoring goals is abysmal at the moment. I fear that in another five rounds we will be further down the ladder.

Reading into the stats with attempts on goals so far this season also suggests that they are not pulling the trigger often enough. I was always taught that once you get into the box let it rip. The more often you have a shot the greater your chances of scoring. Thats my two cents worth.

We could use the new MASCOT too replace Mrdja...even if it had 2 left feet it could kick better than him.
Two left feet might help Nik, it's his right foot (or lack of) that's the problem.

Looks like he need to lose five kilos of upper body muscle and get some speed back at the very least and see a sports psychologist. He did well with just his left for years. Could be wrong but he looks much heavier now though and its not suiting his game.
