Porter under injury cloud coming into match, Elrich not yet match fit but a more experienced player than Travis, Travis hasn't played much - limited to sub role. So maybe Travis isn't match fit enough for Lawrie to trust to run the whole 90 & Porter's injury must've been a concern. As it turned out, funnily enough, Heff was the fullback replaced, but you couldn't predict that going into the match.

Maccalister also didn't make the lineup and not sure, but must have picked up an injury or was ill to be left out. Personally I would have run Dylan ahead of that oxygen thief Mrdja, but I'm not Lawrie and I don't have the advantage of inside info.
Big Macca's absence and doubts about Nik staying the full 90 may have made Lawrie lean on Simon to play as long as he could. I agree that Matty doesn't look 100%.

The first real game that season at the SFS when we won 1-0 is still one of the highlights of our short history imo.

The following week he scored 2 against Welly and we were on fire.
