Always going to win just a matter of getting the ball into the back of the net after some great lead up work. Agree with a few people Appi is no striker that’s for sure never seen a player run around so much for so little reward.

Appi holds the ball well though even if he's not getting in the right position. Will be interesting to see how Asdrubal fits back into the team and what effect that has on the play. Massive game next week. City have been up and down and really shouldn't have beaten the scum.

Recky and I are more likely to score than Kwabi. "Baly"...(its easier than Asdroboy) is fit for next week so hopefully he slots straight back in.

Yeah that's what I mean. Wil be interesting to see how he fits back in.
Considering Kupi hasn't put one away in a while and the team is doing fantastic work, I think you'll see kupi chillin on the bench. The only time I'd ever put him in first team is if hoole is injured or suspended.

We deserved to win but it was like playing with 10 men having appi up front. Perth's back 4 were big and very solid.
With the Spaniard up front i think we would have smashed em. McGing has improved out of sight. DDS was good as was Hoole.
The vibe in the club is very good atm. The players look happy and excited by whats happening. Paul Okon is doing a very good job.

McGing he says if he keeps improving hhhmmmm aaarrrr could get a call into a socceroo camp right back is a problem for us... by heavens he had a good game today and his like play with Hoole was easy on the eye.

Kwabsy.

70 A-leage matches.

2346 minutes played.

2 goals.

I wish more players showed the tenacity he does, but the guys can't find the net to save himself.

Its no point making dashing runs if you do nothing with them. That's what Austin was good at.

Well done Kenny. Set them up for the 0-0 draw or hope to knick a win. He knew he had kids upfront and didn’t try to win.
There defence was very strong especially in the 2nd half. Apart from the goal i don’t remember another chance.
Would have been totally different with there big 3 as they would have been interested in attacking us.

They knew everything we were going to do. They cut out passes to McGing a couple of times and I thought they kept Tom very quite.

Good persistence by the boys because the crowd was getting frustrated and the groans were coming and the just shoot Fckn

I thought the boys were a bit flat today as well but DDS was brilliant and worked his arse off and is surprisingly quick.

Well done to the backs they didn’t give Perth anything except that one save Kennedy made just before halftime. A huge moment. Give up a goal against the run of play on halftime and I’d say we loose.

I thought the whole experience was very reminiscent of the Adelaide game, only with a better outcome and worse execution by Perth ;)
Both teams set up very clearly to defend, Adelaide compacted everything into their half, without necessarily parking the bus. They made it very difficult to play though. Perth did something similar, but to much less effect... I'd like to think it's improvement on our end, but I suspect it's as much poor execution on theirs :(
Still - nice to jag a deserved win.

Austin scored 6 from midfield I believe.

Perth played very away style football. When we had the ball they packed into their final third and shut us out and hoped to catch us on the break. We played most of the game with three at the back with very little stress but it did not make for an attractive game. However we held the ball and chipped away.
Keeping possession in these situations is important especially on a hot day and pays off in the end. No panic, great defence even with fewer numbers back there.
Paolo worked out their game and countered it.
Second half they played a compact defence higher up the field this allowed the odd through ball and satisfied some of the supporters in the prawn sandwich brigade who were moaning every time we played back and recycled. I guess they were brought up in the old country, hoof it long and chase.
It was not that our side was flat it was that sort of game.
It is important to win ugly sometimes. Ask Sydney they do it often.
If Perth had all their stars it would have been a different game, much more open and we still would have beaten them. Probably 4-2.
I am loving where we are and how we are playing.

I will now put the malt away and go to bed.

Yellow Cards CCM 4 Fouls 8 Yellow Cards Perth 1 Fouls 13
Doesn't statistically look good.
KGJ has judged that 50% of our fouls are worthy of a yellow card, yet only 7.75% of Perth fouls were a yellow card??
Really weird
