Farina Ban For Touchline Tirade

BRISBANE Roar coach Frank Farina has been handed a one-game touchline ban after he was sent to the stands in the closing stages of Sunday's 1-1 draw with Wellington Phoenix.

Farina was incensed after second half substitute Tommy Oar collected two yellow cards in two minutes and was sent-off in the 88th minute at Suncorp Stadium.

The former Socceroos coach exchanged words with fourth official Alan Milliner and was subsequently sent from the touchline by referee Chris Beath.

Farina will miss Saturday's meeting with Central Coast Mariners in Brisbane for use of offensive or abusive language against a match official.

Brisbane have also been fined $1000 after five other players received yellow cards against Wellington.

They have until close of business on Wednesday to respond to all the charges.

They'll be going into this game with alot more pressure...winless so far i think.A draw or a narrow win to the Mariners.

I think that will help the Mariners actually ... they'll put the collective feet on the pedal. Should be a great game.

Me too mate!

I mentioned on the McGlinchey thread that it should be an interesting match up with him having a Celtic pedigree and 3 ex Rangers playing for the Roar (Miller, Malcolm and Moore) I hope that big log Bob Malcolm doesn't fall on him?
