Ashcroft came off against AU with Concussion.

Tony said didn't want to risk him.

Didn't know he had a choice? What are the concussion rules and I assume he may not be available this weekend.

I'd go
Bray
Roux, Posco, McGing, Snr Rose
Monty, Jnr Rose
Stella
Fab, Bingham, Austin

Bench
Garcia, Hersi,Usok, McDonald, Tinker

Garcia 15 promotion minutes

Garcia gets off the plane Thursday, there's no way he'll play against Wanderers. I'm sure he'll be there for promotional purposes, but can't see him taking the field.

We haven't actually signed Hersi at this point though, have we?

Nothing's been mentioned by the club regarding Hersi. Its all been media reports, coming to do a medical etc.

Announcement not too far away I suspect.

I find that it's rare that I disagree with you mate ;) but I do on this... I think we've got nothing to lose (other than the game ;) ) and everything to gain. If we lose this game, we lose it... WSW is second on the ladder and has been going pretty well and we're potentially lining up with signings so new there's still wet ink on their fingers. I know it's getting on in the season, but I'm not too stressed about them potentially needing a bit of time to settle in.

No that's good. Much prefer your take on it. Think I'm just feeling a little paranoid that the media is focused on dulling any silver linings we muster atm. :tinfoilhat:

I recon 15000. WSW playing well + LFC fans + general interest from casual CCM fans.
Have to agree. We got over 10,000 for a Sunday 5pm game last up against the Wanderers. They are going well, potential of a few Garcia minutes, maybe a special guest to introduce him, Possible other new signings(Hersi/Fletcher), Garcia bay, much better time slot.......we should get over 15k. Marketing is key from now to the end of the season to get the most out of this.

Totally agree on this point.

If this isn't front page news in tomorrow's CC Express then IT BETTER BLOODY BE in Friday's edition.

Otherwise, I have serious questions towards Marketings ability to get the full capatilization out of this rare event of Luis Garcia being at our 'little club that could'.

For those that dont follow Football or even read the CCE's sporting pages, dont catch word of it on the radio driving to work, Then a front page of .....

"Liverpool Football Legend arrives on our shores !"

will surely make those that haven't been particulary bothered with the Mariners to date sit up and think perhaps I might get myself/family along to a game and see what this is all about.

The atmosphere of the Wanderer's game is THE BEST we have to offer to any new fans, just not sure LG will be even making a cameo off the bench as he flies in on Thurs.

No appearance on the field would make a 1st time fan feel ripped-off coming to the game specifically 'because of Garcia' if it was advertised that
he would.

Garcia confirmed for Wanderers clash:

New Central Coast signing Luis Garcia will arrive in Australia on Thursday and will make his A-League debut against Western Sydney Wanderers this weekend.

The former Liverpool, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid man will become the Mariners marquee for the rest of the 2015/2016 season.

“He’s the biggest name in the A-League now,” Central Coast coach Tony Walmsley told FourFourTwo.

“I think it’s important for the Mariners that we’re seen to be doing everything we can for the whole league. We see marquees as they have to be household names and they have to generate TV and stadium revenue through increased following.

“None of the marquees this season, they’re good players, but they’re unknowns. In Garcia we’ve got somebody who’s not only a great character but who can influence a lot of young players we’ve got here.

“We’re already talking about selling a whole bay to Liverpool supporters club for example. It’s captured everyone’s imagination.”

Garcia played 20 times for Spain but he officially retired in January 2014 before he came out of retirement six months later to join Atletico de Kolkata in the Indian Super League.

The Spaniard made 11 appearances in India, scoring two goals and setting up two, and his last competitive match was in December 2014.

Despite his age, Walmsley is confident the 37-year old is up to the rigours of the A-League.

“He’s been very active,” he said.

“He had an injury, that’s the only reason why [he wasn’t playing] but he’s in incredible condition. He’s not really that old, he’s 37.

“And the type of player he is, the type of player that gets in the pockets and plays smart, we’re not going to be asking him to be running him box-to-box.

“We’re going to be asking him to make a smart contribution on the pitch and then at training giving everything to the likes of Liam Rose and the other young boys in the team.”

The Mariners plan to play Garcia as their number 10.

“We’ve got great wingers this year and we need somebody who can see the pitches and play the ball forward early into good areas,” Walmsley said.

“With his new vision and two feet, he can pick the ball up from anywhere and put it anywhere. He fits the bill on the pitch and off the pitch.”

Walmsley said the Mariners have been looking for the right marquee signing for some time. The coach praised the impact of executive vice-chairman Peter Storrie in the club snaring Garcia.

“It’s all about the right person at the right time,” Walmsley said.

“Peter was working 24-7 to get the deal done, right up until the eleventh hour. He knows how to put this kind of deal together. It was a real team effort with Mike Charlesworth and Shaun Mielekamp.”

Walmsley confirmed that Garcia will feature against the Wanderers at some stage in the match.

“He’ll be involved for sure,” he said.

“He’ll be in the squad for Saturday.”

Central Coast are expecting a bumper crowd for the Champions League winner’s first game in the A-League this Saturday.

“The spike is enormous since we signed him, the spike in interest in the club,” Walmsley said.

“It’s significant, we’re talking 10 times the normal number on social media. How that translates to ticket sales time will tell, but that’s the name of the game. We want to help other clubs grow their attendances as well through this.”

And where/which Bay are they going to put them ???

LFC supporter myself,
BUT have a feeling they'll 'hit the piss' - be all decked out in Red and be singing 'Sangria' & whatever else just for Garcia.

NOT really supporting the Mariners. :(
Hope I'm wrong.
