ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Brilliant coaching by Merrick. The old gipper's still got it.
Good Crowd, Horrible Result Rule wins again

How can we go from not conceding against full strength victory and Sydney teams to copping 5 against the jets. We were very poor in transition from attack to defence. Jets were very very good.

Horrible result for Okon. He's 0 from 2 in meaningful matches with his new squad. He's officially all talk. If this carries on he won't survive round 9. I've said this many times on here: a clean sheet is worth 2.3 points. I really hope he can turn it around.

Bad result but geeze, sounds like lifeline is in for a big night the way some of you are going! Tom H. was good, Brama seemed off the pace, Da Silva never really got into it, Pain was useless in the first half, got better. We looked a bit clueless up front, lots of good lead-up, not much happening beyond that. No-one really got stuck in besides Appiah. Asdrubal (sp?) wasn't terrible, can see him getting better as he and Da silva play more. Doesn't look like we have a really dominant personality in the team? Would have made a big difference.

Very shit result, it's also the first game.

Asdrubal was probably our best player, I thought. but I really don't like the fact that he's already announced himself as this season's biggest diver. I like that we've mostly avoided that sort of crap in our club. Expected Tom H and DdS to have more of an impact.

I don't know what to make of that one. It's round 1 after all. SFC were beaten 5-0 in V1 and that didn't exactly ruin their season. Neither did MV getting beaten 5-0 by SFC on their home turf a few years back. I've already seen neutrals commenting on what a great game it was and a Jest fan talking up CCM's chances this season, so what do I make of it?

I expected much better of CCM tonight but I still feel as if it's the pre-season. If it was later in the season I'd feel way more cut about tonight, but reflecting on the 95 minutes of football tonight for me is summed up best by this expression: o_O

I'm glad I didn't pay to watch tonights' game, but next weekend when I travel to Homebush it'll be a different story. What I do know is there needs to be a f**k load of improvement come next weekend against WSW. Stop ball-watching in defence and doing the same in front of goal. SO many wasted shots tonight...

Hopefully tonight is as good as it gets for the Jest all season...it would actually be hilarious!

Nothing wrong with what he did he didn't stay down and the yellow was awarded. Odonovan did the same for the pen and if it was Asdrubal there I'd be hoping he would go down too. Holding his face though...... Hopefully that stops but it's hard to train out of players.

We couldn’t compete physically and looked silly at times re trying to win penalties, never a good look. Hopefully we can bounce back after that loss but wouldn’t want to be in the shed after the game , never want to here the opposition fans out chant us again like that made me sick.

It's the face holding I was referring to. I don't think he necessarily chose to go down when chest bumped. It was sufficient of a bump to knock somebody over. Be interesting to see if the MRP step in about the faceholding though.

I feel so, so sorry for our people who have worked their butts off to launch the season. Yet again we pull a good crowd only to throw away the opportunity.

I was in Bay 16, and the only time they really made themselves audible from our end was after the 4th and the 5th goal...

Appiah was dreadful. Only Mcging was more clueless.
