ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

He is a nice lad that Tommy Rogic: when Reading couldn't get a work permit for him he came back to the Mariners for peanuts because they were the ones who had shown interest in him before; when the chance came to go to the UK it was Reading who had first dibs and now he is going to Celtic because they have taken the time to be nice to him in Spain instead of listening to what QPR may have to say.
I wish him well (I can't imagine him ever having a pint, never mind a pint of heavy), he is a wonderful talent and I hope he makes it all the way to the top. I expect to see him with the Socceroos in Brazil.
This was brilliant financial business for the club and possibly endorses the efforts they have made over the years to connect with football in Canberra (I wonder if the club will make a donation to Belconnen, or football in Canberra? I hope they do).
And life without Rogic will continue...there is a Premiership to win.

. hopefully this is a good outcome for all concerned ... i wish the kid the best of luck

. i suspect the probability of first team football for a big club (regardless of the league) played a big part in tom's thinking. if the team continues to do well and he does well in that team ... he may not be there too long

I trust that the "add ons" are in place for the next couple of years so that every time Tommy moves on to bigger and better things the club will receive their "add on" dividend. Even "add ons" for a certain number of appearances in the Celtic first team etc etc would be good also. Making the move more profitable than it is at the moment with just one figure being bandied about

Do you work as an undertaker or something? Very keen to bury us, I'm not sure you're bothering to check for breathing or a pulse first.

You should get your posts sponsored by Simplicity Funerals - they gather everyone together to ensure your mourning experience is both touching and memorable.

The rest of us will raise a beer and wish the boy well.

I'm going to assume for a moment that given you've been around a while you've got a fair grasp of the business of football, the position of big and little clubs and leagues, buying clubs and selling clubs etc., and that you've grasped that we're a selling club in a selling league building a reputation as a nursery of quality youngsters.

I'm going to assume that you know a bit about the workings of player contracts, and trial clauses, and the things for which clubs can and cannot refuse their players permission.

I'm going to assume also that you've read the messages quoting Lawrie McKinna where he said that the players heading overseas have trial clauses in their contracts and that the club has no choice in whether they go, only the timing.

I'm going to assume that you realise that in Tommy and Mat's cases, they are each contracted for a total of 11 league games, up to 2 finals and 6 AFC CL games and then they can walk away on free transfers.

I'm going to assume that you noticed that when we went top of the table for the first time this season, beating Adelaide back in November and knocking them into second place, we did it without either of these players and Bernie played less than an hour before he was hooked and we got the winner with him off the field.

I'm going to assume that you noticed we beat Newcastle a week later without either of them as well.

Having reasonably assumed that you've basically been paying attention to football this year and know something about the game generally, I can't quite comprehend your strident and wilful pessimism in the face of facts.

We can't stop the boys going, we are certain to lose them overseas very soon, and we might as well make a coin out of the inevitable given that while they are wonderful players we've demonstrated we can win tough matches without them.

So given this, celebrate their advancement, celebrate our club's development and stewardship, and celebrate the fact that we're favourites to win the league *again*.

Drink it in, these are the good days!

tough critic - top of the league, 2 premierships, etc, etc, is "mediocrity" :D
we could have won the lot this year. we were unbeatable .
the next few weeks will see if we can win anything, but the championship (which is most important)

have you noticed .our oposition lost no one "rojas will stay till after the season"
Are you worried about them? I'm not.

We're not 7 points ahead of them by sheer luck. We haven't lost to them when we have been reduced to 10 or on a day when our coach got his selections wrong, got himself sent from the sideline, the team played like a hatful of busted arses for 45 minutes and they played their best game of the season. We still took a point.

We're now 2pts clear of 2nd and 7pts clear of 3rd with 7 of our remaining 11 at home (where we've won every game so far).

Smell the coffee. We have the best team in the country. So far we are keeping pace with the best teams the A-League has ever seen - in the same echelon as Brisbane 2011 and Melbourne 2007. We are going to win things.

I want the fans to believe it. I want the players to believe it. I want the other teams to believe it. At the end of this year I want to see Hutcho standing there with the toilet seat held aloft and Arnie alongside him with the Premiership plate asking all the doubters to bow down to the Premiers and Champions.

I reckon Matty will stay until his contract expires.

That will mean game, set, match to us.

Even with Trott 2.0 we will still fall over the line as league champions.
