Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Rogic gets 3 match suspension

Seriously - wtf!?
Stinks of 'leveling out the playing field' this. Why do the likes of Perez, Vukovic and Rogic get hammered but equivalent incidents in other teams get a slap on the wrist?

The Mariners won't be appealing the extra 2 weeks of the suspension... I didn't know it cost money to appeal a decision ;)

It won't hurt Rogic to have a spell, he needs a bit of a lift. The recent time away with the Socceroos and the amount of game time he has taken on since has him looking a little weary. It would not have surprised me if Arnie had given him a spell anyway. A refreshed Rogic will be something to look forward to.

This is a joke. Only seems to happen to us and alot worse goes unnoticed. Oh well, time for the likes of Olly, Caceres,Kwas,Dukey etc to shine and make it hard for them to be dropped once the troops return.

Studs up tackle that broke Dean Heffernan's leg years ago didn't even get a yellow card.

Unfortunately, Mariners seem to be made an example of all too often and then it never happens to anyone else :-/

Heffernan's leg was not broken by a studs up tackle. Talay stuck out a leg and tripped Heffernan as he tried to go around him.

Mariners get bent over by the FFA yet again, and accept the decision without any complaint.

Man we must owe the FFA megabucks.....

What about the tackle in Friday night's match, the one on Franjic was far, far worse (over near the sideline, late studs-up challenge right as he was clearing the ball, got his foot), and that only copped a free kick.

Funny how the MRP are quiet about that one. Corrupt cheating pigs.

If it wasn't so serious it would be funny!

"Sydney FC coach Frank Farina has called for better protection of Hyundai A-League playmakers after a battered and bruised Alessandro Del Piero was ruled out of the Sky Blues’ clash with Adelaide United on New Years Eve.

Del Piero was fouled repeatedly during the 1-0 victory over the Central Coast and has been ruled out of tomorrow’s match with Achilles and calf soreness.

The injury is a blow to Sydney FC and the people of Adelaide but Farina was adamant Del Piero, and other playmakers, required better protection during matches.

“Alessandro has pulled up really sore in the Achilles and calf after Thursday’s match and he isn’t fit to travel to Adelaide,” Farina said. “He got fouled eight or ten times during the match and with the short turn around he hasn’t been able to train and he’s not fit to play.

“It’s a blow for us and a shame for the people of Adelaide but I think there needs to be better protection for him on the field. We play a physical game and Alessandro is a big boy who can handle himself but he is getting kicked repeatedly and if that continues he will miss games through injury.

“Hopefully he will be able to recover in time for the next away trip to Perth.”

Del Piero’s omission further depletes the Sydney FC side but Farina believes that the Sky Blues can continue its resurgence if it shows the same drive and fight the players displayed during Thursday’s 1-0 win over the Central Coast.

“I was pleased with the fight we showed against Central Coast and very pleased with how we played. If we can continue that then we will continue to improve and pick up points,” Farina said. “The players have set a standard for themselves and it’s now up to them to maintain it.”

Sydney FC will be missing Del Piero, Ivan Necevski, Fabio, Pascal Bosschaart, Jason Culina, Joel Chianese, Mitch Mallia, Kruno Lovrek and Paul Reid for the clash with Adelaide."

Same old, same old. It seems the MRP's idea of being consistent is by always taking a stand to punish any Mariners infringements.

Frank, protect play makers? Presumably except those named Rogic as your team was clearly directed to kick the life out of him. Honestly Del Piero was fouled a lot it's true, but nothing heavy, and you could see nearly all just a result of his own clever play where he drew them into it. There was no obvious game plan to hack him. Monty tried to mark him out and just got outclassed a few times. Rogic on the ball was a whole different story, two or three players swarming to have a go and shut him down at all costs immediately. Triantis shouldn't have still been on for the second half.

And now the whole injury bullshit... that's pretty low Frank. You can't "know" but every bit of common sense says that's just an outright lie. You can play through most knocks after a few days, but you can't play through having been made to play ninety minutes by your coach when your 38 after recently being injured.... Because what happens Frank is you get a calf strain... or pull a hammy... Sound familiar? Wanker.

Totally agree FP...it looks like Frank has hit the drink again with comments like that.
DP copped a few fouls but he also played for quite a few too knowing he was being protected by the referee.
Rogic on the other hand got hacked but stayed on his feet or the refereee waved play on (WTF)

The MRP (Mariner Review Panel) should have a look at the Emerton tackle on McBreen whilst they have nothing better to do!

So Frankie, the standard for Sydney FC now is to kick lumps out of the opposition at every opportunity, whilst falling down and whining whenever an opposition player dares to brush against any of your players?

My already low opinion of Sydney FC has just dipped lower and is danger of ousting the Jets and Victory as my most hated Clubs.

I hope they get smashed in their next match and go on to get the wooden spoon.
